I am currently looking for full time work. I have a Bachelors degree and 20 years banking experience. I'm on nearly every job board on the internet but haven't heard a word. A friend has been in the start up phase of his business for 7 years now and hasn't officially offered me a position but is working with his partners to see if they can afford me. I get really obsessed with filling out all these job board things and posting my resume. It's been a year since I've worked and 3 months since I've been intensely working on the job search.
I had one interview where the person said I had a perfect resume and then she said "You can't be that good". I went in with a cover letter, resume, 2 letters of recommendation and my Civil Service Test results. I followed up with a thank you letter within 24 hours and got a call back a week later that they had called all my references and everyone gave me a good report but they decided they weren't going to fill the position. Ahhhh! Any suggestions on how not to get so freaked out about getting a job when the money is running out? I'd love to hear them.
A bit obsessed with job search
