I was on 10 mg and my doctor just increased
it to 20 mg, next week 30 mg. I am nervous
about this. Does this sound like a rapid
increase?

hi i know the uneasiness of starting a medication. i was taking buspar for four weeks and it wasn't the right one for me so today i had my appointment and the doctor switched me to a new one -effexor. i just started taking it this morning and i feel real weird but i guess your body just has to get used to it.

I take 10MG of Prozac. I also got ativan to help until I adjust to the medication. I have had about 3 panic attacks, but now I am into my second month and I will think I am going to panic, but I don't. Yesterday I walked at work by myself outside on the sidewalk, and not one panicky feeling. The worst side effect I found with prozac, that I didn't have the first time I took it, was a slight shaking feeling inside for a week or so, about 3 weeks into taking it. It went away, and it may not have been the prozac. My hours at work were just cut from 20 hours a week to 12, and I didn't panic over that. Now I have to figure out what to do about that. Good Luck with the prozac. It works for me.

Hi Morgan,
I take 20 mg of prozac and I feel great. I used to get panic attacks and since I've been on it I haven't had one. I feel as if it's the best thing that I've done for myself.

God Bless

Hi all. I've been off and on Prozac since I was a child. At 9 years old I started on 5 mg and went up to 15, but it was making me feel too out of it.

When I was 17 I had a severe bought with Panic Disorder and went on several different SSRIs but nothing worked as well as 20 mg of Prozac. I tried to get off of it recently, but some relationship troubles and life changes overwhelmed my recovering neural structure so I'm back on it.

Going up 10 mg a week might be fast, but it really depends on how you feel while on it. If you need more time to determine how it's affecting you than let your doctor know. Remember that it's your body, not his. :)

Prozac is one of the very first antidepressent/antianxiety drugs on the market.
They have been much ferther advanced with less side affects and withdrawl symptoms. Id suggest Wellbutrin or Effexor

I've just received the program on Friday, I'm so looking forward to learning new skills to live the life I've been dead to for so many years, due to stress, fear, social anxiety, lake of self confidence, not feeling good about myself, so much negative self talk. I'm ready to be free to be the best that I can be.
