I've had IBS for years. Even if I'm not having diarrhea you can press on my abdomen just about anywhere and it is tender and somewhat painful. I honestly think we have become so "Aware" of our bodies that NOTHING goes unnoticed anymore. Anytime I go to the doctor with different pains, etc. it always seems to turn out to be a non event. Oh course I want it to be nothing serious but still it is concerning that I have these weird pains and discomfort randomly in my body. Stress and anxiety can cause some strange physical sensations sometimes unexplainable.
Yes I always fear the worst. I'm sick of worrying all the time. The weird sensation is still there, but not as often now. And I'm going to eventually get that ultra sound if it doesn't go away. I've been to the doctor countless times for stuff, and I would really like to stop going for every little thing. It's pretty annoying too. But I'm just wondering what this could be? Now its in the middle lower stomach. WORRIED!

So how did your appointment go? I can almost swear to you it is your anxiety and not your actual health. Why? Because I did this FOREVER! I made myself look up constant things on the internet..and diagnose myself. Trust me, it will take over your life. You have to remind yourself that these are the thoughts that are controlling your happiness! I havent posted in awhile, but I related so much to this one that I couldnt resist
I was all consumed by this, counting down the days until my next doctor appointment. Giving entirely too much personal information to friends/family, and repeating the cycle over and over.
Breathe.
Go through lesson 8.
Continuously tell yourself the thing you are suffering from is ANXIETY, not some other illness.
You can do it--I am a testimony to the fact that you can
Best wishes!

Me too HelpingHands. I used to think I had some illness that no doctor could find, and thought I would drop dead any second. Lol. It's pretty silly, but it's the way we've trained our minds. And when someone told me it was all in my head, I just thought how the he*l do you know? I have no doubt there there is some sort of sensation, but the fact is, we as human beings are going to experience strange and weird sensations our whole life. It's the anxiety that sets off that vicsous cycle of panic. When you can remain calm about it, life goes a whole lot smoother.
Have you thought about doing a colon cleanse? Check out hacres.com - this website will give you great ideas to eat healthy. Maybe skip the TV dinners for a week and eat fruits and veggies to help you go poop. Drinking lots of water will help to. This would be much better than going to the hopsital. Try to put all of your energy into eating healthy! Good luck. You will be just fine.
I know how you feel, Scared, im having the same problem. I also switched meds about after a day this started happening, so i've been pretty stressed for a week now. My doctor wasnt concerned, so i'm coping by continually telling myself that its nothing and i'll be fine. The self-talk helps a little.
