Hi Cay,

I just saw this post. Welcome to the forum. You've made an important step and realized that you need help. That's a good thing. Have you bought the program? Are you aware of breathing and relaxing techniques? Are you seeing a therapist? Are you on medication? Are you suffering from other physical or long term affliction(s)? Do you have a belief in God? or Do you think He is not aware of you?

I can give you somethings that may help to distract your attention to all the things you may be thinking that may be holding you down or giving you the feeling that the life is being sucked out of you. However, it might be helpful, if you could answer some of the questions so that we (forum members) can try to figure out what information to give you. I can tell there are many people here that can relate to your situation, me included, but if all I do is give you the reassurance that I have had the same experience it doesn't really help you in your situation over the longer term.

If you want to discuss things in a more private setting, just click on my profile id on this page, and a window will open, then select private message, or if you would just like to wait for others to chime in, you can do what ever you'd like. I am not here to tell you what you have to do, but others and I will try to help by giving you guidance, and encouragement.

I want to encourage you by telling you that you made a very good first step, and encourage you to hang in there. I'm sure the calvary is about to come charging in any moment.

May God's rest upon you and grant you His comfort and consolation.

Hi,
I am also new to this program.
I am very sorry that you feel the way you do but please have a little patience with yourself.
please be kind and compationate with yourself first.
We all have good and bad days, you are not the only one, but try to take it one minute at a time
Some people say to take one step at a time but I think that given our situation one minute at the time is good enough for now.
if you can be OK for just one minute you will be fine.I have tried it myself and it works.
Try to breathe slowly and feel your breath going throug your nostrils in and out.
focus only o feeling the air going in and coming out.As soon as you have a thought going through your mind focus your attention again on the air that you breathe and you can feel and hear going in and out.
Believe me it works, please try it
Please stick to this program,so far it does wonders for me
Bless Lucinda for all the effort she is giving for all of us to became peaceful.
God bless
Dubai

Hey Gman
Thank you for your encouragement.
Yes I bought the program but haven't looked at it yet. Yes I am on lexapro and depakote.
I see a psychiatrist every 3-6 mos. I do have better days and worse days but seldom have a "good" day.
I have recently had a battery of medical tests and lab work for chronic gut problems. I have inflammatory gastritis and esophagitis which I am taking meds for(I hate taking meds).
The depression is a long term thing that has finally gotten me so exhausted that some days I feel like I just can't take another step.
I do appreciate this forum and will try to keep tuned in.
Thanks again.

Hi Cay,

Thank you getting back to us, and for the information. Many of the things you may feel may have to do with the side effects of the medication. Nevertheless, do not stop taking them on your own. The medication is not a cure, it is suppose to mask some of the things you may or may not feel. However, once on them you may develop a sense that you must have them, and if you just drop them they may create other problems.

I am not on any medication. I was prescribed a medication and while on them I had very serious side effect that caused me to collapse and believe that the fall I sustained, brought serious consequences to an operation I had to have on my spine, and now I can hardly walk. Thank God, I reached out to Him, and renewed my studies, but I would not have even gotten to that point if I had not started this program.

I used to be a very gifted athlete, and now I am just a shell of a man. It is sad, but looking back and recalling what used to be is not an answer; it only makes the depression worse. Coming to terms with that part of my depression was the start. In any case, open your package, learn the breathing techniques suggested, you may or may not like the relaxation CD, but you have to try it. If it helps you get a sense of relaxation and calm, listen to it often. The next step is to do the Quick start portion of the program. It is a summary of all the sessions in the program.

While viewing the quick start of the program, make notes of the things that stick out most in the presentations, much as you would in any college course, no matter how silly you may think they are. After each DVD, review your notes and summarize your notes. Until you complete this part of the program. This should take about a week maybe 2 weeks. Take all your notes and summaries and write an overall summary of the course and how specifically it helps you to zone in on your specific issues all while striving to see if they help to lead you to root causes, or when it appears that these feelings of depression began.

It may surprise you to know that these issues may have been going on for much longer than you may now realize. If these things make you cry, it is alright, you are making a break through. Once you understand the root causes, you have to look at things for what they really are now, and what you can or can not do about the things that happened in the past. Again this may cause you many tears, but the the tears bring forth a sort of cleansing and healing begins. Praise God! Alleluia!

I have to render praise to God, because I see His hand all over this process. Even if you don't believe or have doubts, you have to admit there maybe something to these things. If you are open to giving God a chance to reveal himself to you or you are already there; please consider listening to these 2 albums:

Finally, as you well know that the feelings of depression have some negative physical manifestations and there is hope in distraction and exercise, but this sense of lost energy
may make these options seem unreachable, but even slight movements of the joints serve to release endorphins that give you a sense of wellness. You might consider taking a Tai Chi course, and vitamin supplements. In my opinion the best supplements are taken orally in a liquid form. There are 2 I would recommend, if you do not have blood pressure issues I would google look up: Miracle 2000 and you will be amazed at the almost immediate sense of energy and mental clarity that this formula will give you. If you do have blood pressure issues then Liquid Health's Complete Multi is the answer. Both are pleasant tasting and are loaded with many nutrients and enzymes that will totally amaze you.

I hope that you didn't find this to be too much information, but I would be remiss if I didn't share the many things that set me on the path to complete recovery of depression. Why am I here? To help cay and anyone else that is willing to listen and follow wise counsel and guidance.

Even if you don't believe everything said here, you have to admit you just can not blew things off without a thorough and fair inquiry into these things. If you would like to discuss thing further in a more private setting, simply pm me as I suggested before. I am here, as many others, to help you get your life back.

You may not be aware of it, but you can receive notifications on any thing you post to by making proper selections in the notification button at the top of the forum topic. If you already know this please disregard.

God's peace be on you!
