This year has been the worst year that I've ever had in my life. I have a Drivers License, but no car. I have a job, but no money since my parents have been taking it from me. I live in a city where there's no future...like me.

I can't take it anymore, even God won't listen to me...so I gave up on God. I am now an atheist and I don't even want to worship God anymore since he was the one who did this to me.

I tighten my belt and it's still not tight enough! I can't even prey to God!

MrCleveland,

I can't express how sorry I am that you are feeling so low. What has happened to make you think God did this to you? Help me to understand so I can respond in an encouraging way. I don't want to use the Bible since you feel this way about God.

Just because we are poor or lacking material things is no indication that God has left us. God's own son had no home of his own when on earth. Jesus' apostles and his disciples all suffered from various trials and injustices.

It is sad and true we are living in difficult times but God is not the one causing these problems. If you would like to talk I am willing to listen. Sounds like you need to let off some steam.send a message to my private forum.

If you don't like something change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude. Don't complain. - Maya Angelou

I have came back to God.

I just hope 2010 would be better than what this decade gave me. :(

Mr. Cleveland that's great. :)

Remember God is always there, He never leaves us, it is us that come and go!

And don't forget, it's YOU who can make or break the way you feel something. This is what the program teaches, you can't blame outside sources for your happiness.

Imagine being a disciple of God thrown in prison for your beliefs. You are starved, tortured and your future is bleak. You will probably be beheaded or burned alive in hot oil. However you are happy because you have the Holy Spirit in you. Nothing can take that away.

If you cannot change your attitude about the situation you are in, then think about how good your situation is compared to others. You are in a warm home, you are fed, you are clean, you are loved by others.

Count your blessings - and I strongly recommend keeping a journal of negative statements and turning them into positive ones.

Nothing is as bad as it seems.

I was just reading a sermon newsletter called Don't Let Discouragement Take Your Strength, by Pastor Carter Conlon. I believe God put it on my heart to share this with you.

The newsletter is at this link http://www.tscnyc.org/. It is on the lower left side under the heading, Recent Sermons.

You will need Adobe Reader because it is a PDF file. In case you don't have this software, you can download it free from here, http://get.adobe.com/reader/.

God bless. ;)
