You know, sometimes I think the only one I am making feel better when I sign on here is myself :) ;).
Just joking. It is a wonderful place to visit, even after we graduate. I am working the entire program again now, for the reinforcement, which I do need. I will not go back to that dreary dark forest of gloom and sadness where I lived when I began here last June.
Don't give up. :)

I'm glad things are clearing up for you. I had a similar reaction with Wellbutrin years ago for smoking cessation and it scared the heck out of me. Came very close to having convulsions. I literally thought it had done permanent damage to me- and my Dr. wonders why I resist taking much of anything now!??? Good to hear you're doing better.

Hi Monty's mom. I'm just finding this thread. I'm so sorry to hear that you're having such a terrible time. This is why I, too, like Pecos, don't take medicine. If you're still feeling like this in a few days or start feeling worse, please talkto your doctor. He/She may be able to counteract the drug's effects. Take care. We are here for you.

Hi Monty's Mom,
I am so glad to hear you are feeling better. I am very sensitive to diff. drugs too and will not take anything unless desperate. The only thing I take occasionally is med. for migraines and thats only if it is really intense. I am always looking for natural ways etc. I have seen the commercial for the chantrix drug. It is scary how it can effect people and I am so glad you are off of that now. I take braggs apple cider vinegar in my water and it has alot of great benefits. Google it. It just doesn't taste that great but you do get use to it. Well I just wanted to say hi and we are all here for you. You have helped me so much and I always look forward to reading your posts. You have helped so many of us and we are all here for you and good luck on your recovery to feeling better. Have a Great Day.

Hi Mary, deedee, and ali,

Thankyou for the support and kind words. Mary I remember my Son taking Welbutrin years ago and it really had a lot of side affects and it didn't stop him from smoking..it just made them taste yukky.
TThere are no easy ways out of some things..like smoking..I feel we are better off just doing it our own way and if we fail a few times so be it, at least the failures don't have side affects as bad as these drugs. Yes I will quit, as will my husband but we will do it safely this time. I will count how many I smoke in a day starting tomorrow and begin removing 1 every other day or so until I have lost most of the physical and mental ties to the addiction. It might make me cranky for a bit but not suicidal or worse.

Thanks again to all of you great people. I'm so greatfull to have met you and will always do my best to help anyone I can within my power and abilities.

Well Wishes to all.

Monty's mom,
I had recently gone into depression too and am trying to work out of it. I actually avoided the forums for awhile because of how I was feeling. When I got back on I was wondering where you were I miss your posts. I am sorry you have been going through this depression I know exactly how you are feeling and am very glad you have figured out where it is coming from. I unfortunately went the drug route and am so worried about the side effects but the doctor and husband both thought I was bad enough that I needed them so that is what I am doing. Enough about me. Take care of yourself and I hope your smile returns soon!!!!!!!

Also, you let me pm you once and I want to return the favor. Anytime you need to please feel free to pm me.

Hi Monty's Mom!
I am so relieved that you found the cause for your sudden descent back into the depths of depression and that it should begin to resolve itself as the Chantix is flushed out of your body. I have been seeing that ad you saw for several months now but had no idea you were taking it. I agree with you, all of these new drugs are beingintroduced I think without adequate testing, and of course the pharmaceutical companies push the Drs. to prescribe them to us and we the patients end up being the subjects on whom these new drugs are actually "tested on". I've noticed that a lot of the new drugs come with inserts that say "side effects are not known". No wonder we're all so apprehensive about about taking prescribed meds. As advanced as medical technology is,I think it has become lacking in precautions where we the patients are concerned. At least we are informed by the media when a seious problem arises with a newly approved drug.
thank God you discovered the source of your depression. Hope you are feeling much better very soon and I think your plan for stopping smoking sounds like a winner! Best of luck and I hope to see your optimistic and encouraging posts again soon.Take care and God bless!
