Lately there's been rumblings about the connection between stress, raised cortizone levels, and weight gain. Anyone have thoughts on this? I really haven't researced it much (and certainly have not taken the diet pills... already jittery enough!), but I do think there is some truth to the claims. Anyone else?

fischee,

I too have heard about the stress/cortizone/weight gain connection. I think it was on a tv commercial. I also have not done research but believe the same thing.

Yes, great post Lenore! OK, I don't want to do weight watchers. I've been trying to exercise more. Are there certain foods that could help us lose weight quicker? I think watermelon is one. I need to lose 15 lbs. I would love to hear comments. You know what, I'm going to start a new thread, "Quick weight loss???"

Hi, this is one for your doctor or nurse practitioner to talk to you about. It is definitely connected to the hormone floods after an adrenaline rush. This is interesting basic biology stuff, and a doctor or nurse (any nurses or doctors here want to tackle this?) can put it into simple perspective that you can not only understand, but begin to control using this program. Really. Best to you, Pecos.

I too have a weight problem... I have gailed 70 lbs and have now lost 17 of it. My husband thinks I am FAT and he blames everyhting on my weight. ( Iam 5'9" and 191 lbs.) WOW I said that in public.....I have PSTD and I blamed the medications for the weight but after I stopped the meds the weight didn't come off. I an an emotional eater and have also joined Weight Watchers. I need to be healthy and to beat this depression and panic . Thanks for your stories. it helped...LU

Hey LU2,
Welcome to the forum. Congrats on admitting the issue--so many people can't/won't, and doing something about it. :)
