Support circle for depression
Pecos,
Thanks for your reply, you gave me a smile.
Debchance, I just reread your reply to me from a few weeks ago about AA, and I'm going to a meeting tonight since I slipped a few times the past 2 weeks. I just can't do it alone. Thank you for sharing your experience with me.
Kidsisme, I am picking up the 5 love languages tomorrow from a bookstore. It has high reviews from many besides you. Thanks for the recommendation. I need all the help I can get with this marriage that I have screwed up so badly.
Started session 4 finally. Will revisit 3 as needed, but it is amazing all the negative messages I catch myself saying.
Hello to all the newcomers, too many to mention by name. Hang with it.
A month ago I was suicidal, today is so much better. Gotta go to AA so see ya later.

mr mom, sorry you slipped but glad you are going to give meetings a try. Give yourself a chance. We need to take care of every opportunity to succeed here! And at least in my experience alcoholics are some of the worst guilt, shame and regret carriers and we all know where that gets us....
pecos, thank you for the kind words. Some people (my family) think I am an over-sharer at times. Oh well, if my experience can benefit others I am all for it.

Tadpole and Mandy,
You can start being part of this circle right away. I just started in November and was drawn into this forum right away. Support circle for depression how awesome! We may not feel awesome but we are not alone. It may take a day or two sometimes to get a response to a post but don't feel shy about posting again if you don't get a response. Some great people post here that have been working the program for some time and can be very encouraging.

Hi To Everyone In the Group,
Pecos the day you got this group started I signed up, but then a couple of important things came up that took me away from home and my computer. Anyways, I'm on Lesson 4, more settled down now, but my depression has returned. I'm not near as motivated as I was. I am starting to lose interest in pretty much everything.Has anyone ever been doing real well with the program, then got away from it for awhile. Then have the depression come back, which was the reason for getting the program in the first place?? Advice more then welcomed!

I would love to join this circle. Depression is my main problem. I found for me starting the program at session 3 most beneficial. I do have anxiety often and know what it is that's why I am starting at #3. I am having ahard posting and getting through this website. I have dial up and can not get any other connection because of where I live.Hope something new comes along soon. I am depressed about finances, I'm broke with no job. My family cannot find work either b/c no lobs in Fort Payne AL. I wish I never left FL. but at least my home is paid for. Down there I had a huge mortgage. I got luvky and sold my home before the mortgage mess. Anyone esle have money as thier main issue?
Greetings to all here. I do not visit the StressCenter.com community very often since I completed the program. I do try to visit our Support Circle at least three times a week. The most important function of this Circle is for people who are primarily suffering from depression to have one place they can come to, where the others who also visit here have both experience with and understanding of this condition. Depression ruins our moments, and spreads throughout our days, our weeks, eventually consuming the years of our lives. I want to encourage every one who is working through this program to recover from depression to continue posting, replying and HELPING each other here in the Depression Forum. Those of us, like myself, who have completed the program, and are now depression free, are the reason you want to do this. Depression does not get much worse than mine. I did not use medication. I did have regular communication with a friend who is a doctor, and I did have this community. I must say in all honesty, the guides which most helped me recover were this program, and this community. The journey is PAINFUL, it is DIFFICULT, and it is often FRUSTRATING. But it WORKS. It really truly does. I do still have days when I experience negative thoughts and attitudes. I do have some lifelong habits that I am still overcoming. But the dark gloom, the overwhelming sadness, the constant self-defeating thinking, those are no longer a regular part my life. Please work your programs. When you are suffering, please help each other. When you are lost, please reach out to the people here who have been most supportive of you. I will try to visit a few more times before Christmas. I am working on a new job project, and I am just thrilled with how I feel. As time goes by, if I continue using the skills in my StressCenter.com tool box, I won’t have serious relapses. Life is hard. There are always going to be relapses. But with the skills here, we can handle them. I hope you all gather here, get to know each other, and realize that sometimes just the comfort of knowing you have others to walk with on this journey will be all you need to navigate those difficult days that sap your energy and steal your motivation. The tools are in your program. Please don’t give up. And when you finish, please return here when you can and help those who are new to the program.
