Well lately I've been battling with hypochondria.
I'm trying to stop being one.
But sometimes I just feel like I'm SOOOOOOOOO happy....but it doesn't last long at all.
Then I go BACK to being this "blah" feeling.
I don't know why.
I mean I just want to be confident and ENTHUSIASTIC all the time.
I just can't seem to be enthusiastic for more then one hour... then I turn really lame, boring, and my mind starts racing and thinking about stupid things.
I just don't understand why I can't stay happy, why must my brain make up crazy stupid scenarios in my head?
Why am I thinking about very depressing sad and negative things every second?
I TRY really hard to block the sad things, but deep down inside its like my mind is trying to bring up RANDOM sad scary thoughts....
How can I be more in control of my thoughts, so I can live a better productive life?
I find it so hard to STAY happy.
Scared 23 I truly sympathize with how you feel. I myself ride that emotional roller coaster all the time I think in our mental makeup we are unable to stay on a permanent hig as a result of this lost and sinfilledworld. I also feel that it is to exhausting mentaly, emotionaly and physicaly to remain at this high level as it is to destructive to our entire being to remain in the low or scarey part of the mentality of life as well. The key is to find that perfect balance or middle ground metaly where we are not detered by how we feel wether we get good news or bad. I am striving for that even keel in this program and it is my heartfelt parayer that we all here willreach and achieve that goal. take care love in Christ Jesus Le Ann
Hi Scared
,
I do not think it is "realistic" to think one is "enthusiastic" and "happy" all of the time!!!
There is not one single person in this world, who does not have their own set of problems!!! Life is not PERFECT for anyone!!! Every single one of us has our "up" and "down" moments!!!
Trying to block out your thoughts is not the answer!!! The more one tries to wish their thoughts away...The more attention, they are paying to them, and they are drawn nearer to you, like a magnet!!!
Checking in on your thoughts is soooo "therapeutic"...In order, to get really good at this, one must consistently check in on their thoughts!!!
Remember, you need to stop that scary thought in it's tracks!!!
Place up that huge STOP SIGN in your mind's eye, and replace each scary, sad thought with one, which makes you feel more safe, secure, loved, warm, and healthy!!!
Try your very best to live in the precious present moment!!! The past is dead and buried!!! We only have the present, dear friend!!!
Make the very most of your moments!!! And please understand that no one in this world has that perfect little happy life!!!
I pray that God blesses you tremendously on your journey to recovery!!!

Scared--firs off, after reading a few posts...you have acknowledged the hypochondria. Awesome!! You made the first step in realizing your anxiety is causing you to have consist worry, and it seems yours is reflected most in health concerns. Of course this is not fun..but just acknowledging the issue is there is a HUGE step.
You are never expected to be happy all the time--who is!? Having this constant worry that seems SO real to you--is also going to prevent you from being happy. I went through it as well. I was so worried that I could rarely enjoy the present moment. I would look back and thing DANG IT..I really had it made at that point! Try to focus on where you are at more often, not so much what is to come.
You are on the road to recovery! You're doing great!
