Does anyone have have shakes/tremors/vibrations?
Im not even sure if this is related to my anxiety or depression but for the last eight years I have had a very mild case of the shakes or vibrations. It all started after a major panic attack where I had to go to the hospital and was put on several different medications... Paxil,xanax,klonopin...I stopped them after a year but the vibrations still are here. The only time I notice it is when I do yoga or when I am trying to lay still... I notice a very mild vibration. It is much more noticeable when I am very hungry or when I have had sugar. I have been tested by a few specialists and no one seems to know what it is. Blood sugar is fine, muscles and nerves are fine... nothing shows up. A Naturopath seems to think it might be adrenal fatigue from the stress and anxiety so I am going to being taking Rhodiola for adrenal support. It doesnt interfere with my life but it is frustrating when it is stronger.. it scares me and makes my anxiety worse. Anyone... any ideas or anyone who has the same thing?
Hi dmstefano,
I can completely your fear of these vibrations and shakes. Until recently I completely believed I had a severe medical problem because of my shakes and vibrating feeling-especially in my hands, legs and feet. I was terrified. I felt these symptoms even when I "felt" calm. I didn't feel any sensations of vibrations unless I was still-much like you probably are when doing yoga.
Anyway-After almost a year of seeing doctors and countless medical tests (MRI, EMG etc.)I finally ended up at the Cleveland Clinic. It was there that I was diagnosed with severe anxiety. I was stunned that 1.I had an anxiety problem and 2. that anxiety could cause symptoms like this.
Anyway-after finding out what the problem was-I had to believe and accept that I didn't have any nasty medical problem-which was really, really hard for me. But when I finally did-the shaking and vibrations completely stopped!
Can vibrations and shaking be caused by anxiety? absolutely-because it happened to me. Anxiety is a nasty little thing that can cause any number of symptoms.
I completely believe that it's good to check with your doctor when you are experiencing something you don't understand-so I think you did the right thing. I am glad that all of your tests have all come back indicating that nothing is wrong. I would say keep in touch with your doctor, but be aware that it is entirely possible for anxiety to produce physical symptoms-even when you don't feel anxious.
If you have any questions feel free to write to me.

Hi there Jim 74, I think it is interesting for us to share our experences and side effects of anxiety, more so than going to a doctor who often does'nt know what is happening and then prescibes some sort of medication in order to placate us, only to find that the medication creates another set of symptoms. i remember you help on my first visit to this site and i wish to thank you for your understanding.......how are you doing
it looks like accepting the anxiety helps to let it go.........
