I just started the program for anxiety and depression. I was wondering if anyone knows about Athapy and what you can do to help someone with athapy. My spouse finally came out and told me he had no feelings for anything and doesn't care about anything and I need him as much as he needs me.

Hi Nicole,

I think you mean "Apathy."

Are you doing the program for yourself because it sounds like your husband could benefit from it also (I think that most everyone could benefit from it). Not caring about anything is usually an indicator of depression.

Sorry. Yes I did mean Apathy. I wrote it backwards and didn't notice.

Nicole81,

Can you give us any idea why he may be feeling this low? Has something happened? Has he lost someone close to him? Has he been unemployed for example?. I think couturesugar is right on the money here, he needs to possibly see a doctor for major depression. But again is there anything specific that is making him feel this way?

Clearly apathy and depression are closely related but there is usually a root cause. If we have a specific cause we can then focus in on a specific solution. When did the apathy start and was there specific circumstances surrounding it?
Hope this helps some, let us know.
