Sad Birthday to me

Today's my Birthday and guess what...
I had to work and get taken advantage of! A day when I should be treated like a King...I'm treated like a Pawn. I had to get my father cigarettes. I hate doing it and I wound-up doing that...on my own Birthday!
If I ever leave home...I'm going to be a wild horse!

I wonder how many people were in concentration camps on their birthdays?
I wonder how many innocent people are behind bars on their birthday?
I wonder how many slaves had to work on their birthdays?
I wonder how many neglected and abused children were forgotten about their birthdays?
How many orphans never had a birthday recognized?
How many wives got beaten on their birthdays?
Mr. Cleveland have you done your replacement thoughts?
negative "I had to run an errand for dad on my birthday"
positive "I'm grateful that I have legs to walk"
Work on those replacement thoughts, and count your blessings. You are alive on this birthday of yours. You have internet and a computer to communicate with people all over the world. You have a roof over your head and a warm bed at night. You are eating, yes? Count your blessings.
Also how about taking the focus off yourself? Why not respond to a few downer posts and try to lift them up? A nice birthday gift from YOU to them.
The only way to make joy happen is for you to start it. Don't count on others to give you joy.
P.S. I am adding this because in retrospect my post may seem a little harsh. It is just that your threads always start out how your life is so unfair and you don't deserve what you are getting.
Do you remember, that Lucinda calls this "magical thinking" that you feel you are 'owed' something because it's your birthday, or you worked hard for something, or you just believe that you deserve something that others have.
I also wanted to wish you a happy birthday today, and to make the best of your day. Enjoy your life today, no matter what you do!

Mr Cleveland,
I really don't know what to say to you. I'm sorry you think you had such a sad birthday. "Treated like a King"??? I wonder how many people are really treated that way on their birthdays as kings or queens??? People have tried many times to help you but you're just not ready to change. I don't think you're doing or have ever done the program have you? I've PM'd you trying to help but you just don't want to change. You want everyone else to change. Your attitude always seems to be, "Poor Me"
Do you really want help here or just sympathy??
"If you ever leave home you're going to be a wild horse?"
Come on, Mr.Cleveland. Isn't there anything at all your parents have done for you??? They give you life but I imagine you blame them for that as well. I'm not meaning to be hard on you but many of us have had problems with our parents. I've had a lifelong not so good relationship with my mom. It's a constant battle but gave me this mom for a reason. Yes, many times I've cried out to God because of her. Recently I was screaming at God about her but then I was terribly sorry and realized I need to grow up and accept her as she is. After all I was never beaten or abused so there are other things from her...oh well, that's life..Move on. If you want so much to be a wild horse then why don't you move out since you think you're always doing things for them. I'm sorry again if this is coming across harsh. We are here to help you MrCleveland. Are you sure you really want help??? If you do, we are all here to support you so please cheer up and know better days are coming.

Happy birthday Mr. Cleveland. I hope it improved for you. I don't know much about you, but I imagine there is more behind your post than it's more superficial overtones; that there is more to why you feel discontent.
My birthday is tomorrow! I'm on call, my family's far away, I don't have a lot of friends, but it's all goodl; or, at least, a work in progress.

Mr. Cleveland.
It is not what you say, as much as what you think.
Do you really think this way? That everyone else and everything else makes you so miserable?
Do you know, that some of these shootings on the news are results of this kind of thinking. You blame everything and everyone on your circumstances and the way you feel, and you are angry at the world.
You have to turn around your thinking.
God bless you.
