Mike,
Have you read the book 'The Power of Now' by Eckhart Tolle? There's a great part in it that I'm quoting here:
"Are you worried? Do you have many what if thoughts? You are identified with your mind, which is projecting itself into an imaginary future situation and creating fear. There is no way you can cope with such a situation, because it doesn't exist. It's a mental phantom. You can stop this health and life corroding insanity simply by acknowledging the present moment.......All you ever have to deal with, cope with, in real life---- as opposed to imaginary mind projections----- is this moment.
Ask yourself what 'problem' you have right now, not next year, tommorow, or five minutes from now. What is wrong with this moment? You can always cope with the Now, but you can never cope with the future--nor do you have to. The answer, the strength, the right action or resource will be there when you need it, not before, or after".

It's a great passage from the book. It is similar to the message in the the program program.
It's always neat to see it somewhere else!

I actually was lent this book by my roomate a few days ago but i haven't checked it out...i have tried to read it in the past and it just got too overwhelming for me so i stopped.

That is a really good quote you picked to put up here. It does make alot of sense and I know for myself anyways I do tend to look at it as if i have to solve a problem all at once instead of solving it 1 moment at a time. I think it was David D Burns that said living life like this would be like seeing all the food you have to eat in your life all in front of you and then being expected to eat it. This is a good reminder thank you.

Good statement by David Burns. What's good is that 10 years ago I didn't get exposed to all this good advice and philosophy. So you are right what you said in another post.... that due to our anxiety and other conditions, we have been blessed with information and people support.

Thank you JJ. It is really true and once we can really appreciate and feel grateful for the experience, we can start to let go of the pain associated with that pain.
