I am just starting session 3, which is good because I have a lot of negative self talk. I have recently been able to control most panic attacks but still have a hard time not assessing my feelings constantly. I am a mother of 2 and am alone alot of the time and it is beginning to depress me. I get scary thought now and then about "what if" I get so depressed I am suicidal, or "what if" I dont get better. I am working so hard at this, any advice?

I think that's awesome that you are gaining control over your panic attacks! Keep it up. Being alone most of the time can be a challenge for us. Can you put the kids in a stroller or on their bikes and take a walk everyday? What about making a schedule of events that day: a reading time, art or craft time, or if your kids are in school, making a list of things for you to accomplish that day. Don't beat yourself up for things you don't do just put them at the top of your list for the next day and try again. I understand your what if thought about suicide. I tell myself that won't happen because I want to get better and this program IS going to help me. Then I do positive things and allow myself to rest if I need to. Not to have a pity party but do something relaxing or enjoyable. I hope that this helps you.

ScaredViolet,

Can you try "what iffing" in the other direction? What if you do learn to get past these problems? And just so you know, a lot of people "hit the wall" at session 3, so you're not alone there. What if you do get better? What if your life changes in positive ways?
Just trust the program and keep up the good work. It takes a lot of courage to face the problems of a lifetime.
