feeling really bad about myself!
Last night I went out whcih I dont do often...Long story short I drunk way too much and slept with someone I hardly know and hardly remember doing it! I feel so terrible about myself and have been crying and depressed all day long. I feel sick to my stomach and have showered like 3 times. I can't get over this bad feeling about myself!
Well Dina,
You made a mistake and you know you did.
It's done and it's the past and now there's one very important thing -
Don't repeat that mistake. It only gives you reasons to feel bad about yourself.
Excuses to beat yourself up emotionally.
Learn from it and move on.
You're not the first to make a mistake like that and you won't be the last.
Error in judgment, simple as that.
Not a safe one, but it's in the past now.
Go give those kids a hug and yourself too.
Get busy doing something constructive and positive.
Do you have the program??
Would help to build up your self esteem and help to keep you out of circumstances like this one.
Stop beating yourself up!
Hugs!!!

Dina,
Cindylou is right. Your going to be ok. Don't be so hard on yourself, we have ALL done things we regret. You'll get through this. It's time to start being good to you. Like they say what if someone you loved came to you with the same story, you would give them compassion and understanding...now it's time to do that for yourself. We are only human. Take good care, your a good person and deserve good things in your life.

We have all (even the ones that are said to be normal) have done things we didn't want to or should not have done. Trying to learn, by what you have done, and finally stop doing those things that you feel worst about is what you need to over come. Our brains are not all that much different than the one's possessed by the Cro-Mag's, ours has just become more useful to us (the Homosapien's). In fact, even the Neanderthal's brain was about the same mass as ours it was just wired differently, we must do some things we don't really want to do in our lives (go to work, put up with our bad day‘s, etc.) but like the other posters said "don't let it get to you to much".
There's been more than one woman that I really didn't want to or knew I shouldn't be with, I still feel bad about it but, I also know I can't change what I have done and have put a trust in myself to try and not do that again. Have you tried to stop or at lest slow down your drinking? That really put me in (along with other things from my past) a bad way as I quit cold so don't quit cold just start slacking up first.

Hi Dina,
What a beautiful name you have I don't know how old you are but what you did was not being a lady. When I was younger in my twenties I did some dumb things that I often regreted doing. But I was young and you just don't think like a 30 years old women. You don't see the wrong at that time. You think you can handle life when really you can't. Everyone of us have been there doing dumb things that we should have never done.
Forgive yourself and move on. Focus on better things like working the great program you have in your hands. Hang around positive people, try walking, working in your flower garden, read a good book, visit a friend, go to a movie, go out to lunch or dinner with a good friend, there are lots of great things you can do.
STOP FEELING SORRY FOR YOURSELF AND BEATING YOURSELF UP. Move on!!!!!

Hi Dina,
Pick it up and move on !!!! Life is too short to be spending time on wrong decisions that we all have made. We all are human and we all are going to make mistakes. The important thing is that you LEARN from your mistakes. From your post, is sounded like you had a partial blackout which means things you did do while you were in that state will be a little fuzzy if you remember at all. Focus your thoughts on the program and learn to forgive yourself. Take care and remember One Day At A Time !

They called these (at rehab) brown-outs. Things are fuzzy or you remember some things and don't remember everything after a certain point (once the alcohol reaches a certain % in your head) or you get used to getting that way and maybe your mind just turns off at some point. From your post, is sounded like you had a partial blackout which means things you did do while you were in that state will be a little fuzzy if you remember at all.
Everyone has different limits and things affect them in different ways so you have to be on the look out for your own black-out/brown-out/relapsing points. I didn't have a problem until about 2 1/2-3 months after I stopped drinking (it does sound strange) but that was just my point of no return.

Hi Dina. I dont like to sugar-coat serious things like this. Although you have to put this behind you and forgive yourself for what you've done, that was a serious and scary thing that you did and it could have resulted in something really bad happening to you. What happened could have been a whole lot worse. You really have to get a hold on your drinking. When you drink so much that you actually dont remember things, thats a big problem. My father was an alcoholic and he basically died from the drink when I was 3yrs old. Be careful.
