Hi, hoping for some advice. I am having a hard time changing my negative thoughts to positive.
For example: If I get on the highway, I will have a panic attack and pass out or get in an accident. I'm afraid of the body symptoms I will have.
I'm having trouble changing that into anything positive. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

I too am having trouble turning negatives into postitives. I cant even figure out when I'm being negative! I get into bad moods and I am negative towards anything and everything and at the time and it's hard to find negatives because I'm so angry. Does anyone else feel or get like this? Any help would be aweosme. Hope you're all doing well.

Hi Kag812,

What do you think about one of the below?:
- I might have a panic attack, but no-one passes out from a panic attack (quite the opposite, if you're about to run away from a lion, nature doesn't want you to pass out:).
- If I have a panic attack I will see it as an opportunity to conquer my fears and let it pass.
- For every time I take on a panic attack with some calmness and just let it pass I will fear it less. Bring it on!
- I will probably not even have a panic attack, I'm just anxious and I know that I do get anxious in the car. I will be kind to myself and listen to the radio and try to relax even if it's a challenge.

Let me know if it works.

Best,
H

Thanks for all the replies. I really appreciate them.
Hellan, I love your positives...especially the passing out one, never thought of it that way.
Just to let you know, I've taken two very small trips on the highway, on one ramp and off the next, and I had no panic at all. Of course I was prepared, breathing and calming self talk before I got on.
I still find positive talk hard but I quess I'll just keep practicing.
Thanks everyone.
Kelly

Hi Kelly,

Excellent, good job! So happy to hear that and thanks for letting me know. I agree, positive talk is hard, but I think you're right. With practice (and some humor) we will make it.

Best,

H
