I am finding out I have many negative thoughts. It is hard to remember to write them all down. I find myself catching myself making a negative remark and changing it to a positive remark. I am trying real hard to think positive. Its not easy, but I guess with practice it will become a habit, I hope.

that's exactly what the goal is! abd i'm doing the same thing. i notice i think a lot of negative things while driving, because i'm alone and have an hour drive to work. obviously i can't write them down, and honestly i don't think that's the most important part. what you are doing, changing the negative to positive, is what the main focus is. writing it all down only makes it more obvious to us what we are thinking and how often we think it. you are on the right track, and you are not alone! :) i'm proud of you!

Hey heart29...I thought what you said about "I find myself catching myself making a negative remark" was really good you are realizing and becoming aware of what your doing. That's Great!
I don't know If this will help but something I have started is writing down my acomplishments
everyday..nothing is to big or to small!!! something I wrote just yesterday was. I got up at 7am. for me that was a good thing. don't worry about what other peoples acomplishments are. This is about you! try hard to not compare
yourself with others.
Remember NOBODY IS PERFECT.
It will get easier...be patient with yourself.
I hope that helps :)

Im having problems coming deciding what is negative. Am I thinking about it too much or what? I find it easier at the end of the day to look back and think about what went on that day. I dont know if i should be doing that or not?

I found myself too correcting my negative thoughts now when they come up .. sometimes I too IM not in a position to write them down but changing them as soon as they appear I think is recovery to me.. and now I notice Im having less and less of those lousy negative thoughts that is very addicting.. practice makes us better the more we think positive the more positive we get.. I am so happy I am in this program even though Im progressing slowly I am still progessing.. tonight I commit tolistening to the relaxation cd

My negative thoughts spring from physical symptoms. I have acid reflux and get severe chect pains from it - which leads me to a lot of negavitive thoughts about my heart or my brain or whatever - I have health anxiety - and well that's it

You need to keep a notebook with you - a small one is fine. It's hard to catch all your negative thoughts. Most of us have chatter going on all the time, however, you can catch several. Waiting for the end of the day is not really recommended because our minds tend to forget what was said. Catching it and replacing it immediately will get you on the right path. Don't judge it. Just replace with something soothing and truthful. Something that comforts you and brings you peace of mind but that is true.

Example would be:

Yes, I do feel anxious right now but I am doing something new. The anxiety will pass.

I can handle this.

I'm in the process of learning and must be patient with myself.

You get the idea.

Boons right, I think that its important that as soon as you get a negative thougth you try to replace it with a positve one and not wait cause theres a lot going on in our day that we tend to forget. After I finished session 3 I started to listen to my self talk, I began catching so many negative thougts that I was having a hard time replacing every single negative with a positive. I try to replace my negative thoughts as soon as I start thinking negatively but its to much at times, I've been correcting as many negatives as I can but that can be overwhelming. But knowing that Im at least correcting some of them has been very helpful because I remind myself that this process is not going to be easy and I must be patient.
