Too far behind to read the posts and get the benefits from them? So you'd be willing to give up on possibly finding the answers to your questions from those posts because we are really far ahead? Well thats your choice.

How much time have you spent thinking about your reasons for quitting and how does that help you overcome your anxiety and depression? Does it really make you want to go through the program more or less? How much time have you spent thinking about quitting as opposed to following through?

You say you still don't know if this will help you. What facts (not feelings) supports the idea that this program will not help you? What facts contradict the belief that the program won't help you? Saying you've had this condition for too long, you feel hopeless or its too hard or anything like that is not fact. Facts are things like the company has been around for over 20 years and already helped thousands of people, I have the ability to learn-grow and improve, my brain functions the same way as any other human being on the earth and has the same potential...Stick to facts, not feelings.

If that doesn't help you any then I want you to look at every possible area of your life that this condition is negatively impacting and I want you to feel it. Your relationships, your finances, your job, your self-esteem, your sleep, your immune system, your appearance, your mood, your hobbies, your confidence and courage and then I want you to look at how your life will be like if you continue to go on with the same anxiety and depression for another 5 years, another Decade and then 20 years from now and look at all those diffrent areas again. Look at everything you've had to give up so far because of this and everything you will have to give up in the next 20 years and then you tell me if it is worth taking the effort to try the program and risk it working for you.

Did you happen to read my former posts
where I admitted to being hasty about
quitting and decided to stay with it?

I really appreciate everything you said.
Most of the things you bring up apply
to me. I have given up so much because
of depression.

This is more difficult for me than you
can possibly imagine. I have come to realize
I have to get a handle on this.

I have tried so many things and most of them
failed. Mostly because I was so depressed I
didn't care anymore. I had a defeatist attitude
and victim mentality. I blamed other people.

I will keep going through the program. I'm just
going to take my time.

I did read the threads in the group you are
leading. The weekly challenges. Other posts
by people who quit and started again.

I don't know if I will have a handle on this
by week five.

Yes I have read your posts. I am trying to help reinforce any motivation. If you are talking about spending alot of time thing of the reasons why you should quit then do you think it still sounds like you are deciding to stay with the program?

I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that this is more difficult that I can possibly imagine, after all you don't know the suffering that I've gone through myself. I've lost alot myself, I've lost many people including my family and have been on my own since I was 20, I've gone to the cops because of what someone did to me only to have people whom actually mattered turn on me. I've almost had to live on the streets because of this condition.

I think many of us have gone through that stage of going through things and them not working. It is the doubtful and discouraging thoughts themselves that keep it from working itself. I've been that way myself too and I've blamed a whole lot of people for my suffering, there was even a time where I hated everyone and wished the whole world would just explode. Luckily it didn't though.

I've been going through the program for 6 years and even though i've made alot of progress, I still do not feel confident enough to say that I have fully gotten all the lessons but I don't think I could ever say that because I can always improve and grow on my knowledge and each time I go through the program I make even more progress and have more ah-ha moments! You likely won't have a handle of this by week 5, thats to be expected. The program is not 5 weeks long, its 15 and this program is not going to go anywhere and you do not have to wait for 15 weeks before you start to feel positive and feel good about yourself.

When children first learn to walk, do they just know how to do it automatically? Are all their attempts successful? Of course not, they call many many times and they keep trying and eventually they reach their goal. Change is a gradual process and it isn't possible to not change even 1% if you keep working on the goal, its not possible! It might feel like its possible but feelings are not always based on fact, now are they?

I know its really painful to go through this condition, I know how it feels to want to get it over and done with but it just doesn't work that way. I've been posting on this site for 6 years and I can guarantee you that once you get rolling, you do start to feel better. I have seen it with many people on this site and within myself. What can you really lose by going through the program that you aren't already losing now by being in the condition?

I haven't thought of quiting, just that I seem to feel worse going into week 4--than I did before I started. I probably am "What if" thinking. I think that anyone who takes the time to post, wants to get better. Just scared, feel alone and unsure of what exactly "to be" thinking. If your rewiring your thoughts, it will definitely mess with how you look at "YOU", who you are, who you are going to be. The way I understand it, it can be overwhelming and I wish there was a help line that you could talk to someone when you need to. Especially for those of us who don't really have anyone in our lives anymore. I guess this will have to do.
Every time you think of quiting, what if you said to yourself"Right now I'm just going to listen to---one more time..."or "Maybe I'll quit tomorrow, but right now I'll read a little, or watch TV, or listen to the relax tape"...
If you always put off quiting, but keep with the program, maybe the pressure will lighten in your head? What do you think?

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE DON'T QUIT! You have taken the first and hardest step by starting the program!! I used to have this extreme fear of public speaking and guess what i did today! I gave a 10 minute presentation in front of 300 people! If I can do it, you can do it, too! :D
