Quitting Program
I'm quitting the program. I am unable to
go through it alone.
Having extreme problems with the action
assignments. I have too many distractions.
There are elements of the program that would
benefit me however, I think I have crossed over
from anxiety to being paranoid.
I have real problems with pulling away from
opportunities and pushing people away. I have
an extreme fear of trying. Simply put, I start
something and then quit a few days later for
no reason.
I don't have much support from family and outside resources are too difficult for me.
I have a trust problem when it comes to people.
I have faced a lot of crap because of my emotional problems. Most of it at the hands
of my family. The rest at the hands of local
authorities and adult protective services.
Unless you have stood in the police station
and been called "looney" in front of everyone,
it is hard to understand.
I still face a lot of crap. I can't handle
it anymore.
I just quit.

If you are still looking at this forum.....Please don't quit! You are worth more than that. You deserve a happy life. We all have trust issues....we all get depressed and feel like life is too much at times. I just had a set-back and had to revert back a little but I am not giving up. We are all in this together in this life! There are plenty of people out here who are on your side. If you ever listen to country radio or Lady Antebellum....try listening to "Hello World". It is a very hopeful song.

and I'm guessing quitting the program will help you face your crap more I take it. Well whatever you choose is up to you but you get to live with the consequences of any choice.

Hey mike, No quitting won't help me face
the crap. I am not sure the program will
help me. Maybe I am hasty in my decision
to quit.
By the way, do you practice ninja or
is that just your username? I see your
picture. I just started some Shaolin form
from Okinawa. I hold a belt in ITF Taekwondo.

Poetrob, glad you're not quitting. I finished the program 2 years ago and I can't tell you how it changed everything for me. I found out much of my anxiety was due to physical illness. If not for the program I would be running in circles forever, wondering why I can't get better. Now I got treatment and I'm doing so much better. Plus you you need to practice the skills they teach to get better. That takes time.
It didn't seem like I was going to get better for the first few months. I see it like rehab. It takes a while to get through and stick with it, but wow is it worth it. I know it takes some patience. Keep posting and chatting. I know you will find support.

Quitting definately won't help you guaranteed! If this is the only thing you were doing to confront the anxiety and depression then would you not be going back to the suffering full force and feel even less hopeful?
You aren't sure the program will help you but you are also not sure that it won't help you either. How do you find out?
Also keep in mind the condition is based on irrational thoughts and feelings so is it possible that you are looking at the program in an irrational way? Have you ever felt strongly about something only to figure out later that it was wrong? Could this be one of those times?
Is it possible that you might not have faith in the program because you are telling yourself that you can't, you're not good enough, the results aren't good enough, you're not moving quick enough, you aren't understanding everything, you aren't doing it right, you aren't getting anywhere, you're still feeling anxious, its too hard or something to those lines?
If this is a possiblity then I want you to consciously keep this thought in your mind when you do any of this self-help stuff "All I need to make this happen is within me now" Your brain has the ability to come up with answers to problems, you always have the ability to learn, improve and grow. Your brain has the same exact functions as people like the president, Albert Einstein and even Lucinda Basett. If you are starting to tell yourself after reading that, "But these people are well educated" or "They had a good childhood" or something like that then I have a question for you...Is it not possible for people with bad childhoods, or little education or whatever the thing is you are thinking, is it not possible for them to ever become successful? why?
No i'm not an actual Ninja I just thought of it as a username. It would be cool to learn a martial art though. Thats pretty impressive by the way with the Shaolin and Taekwondo. Do you do the board breaking or have you?
If you quit the program would you potentially be prolonging your anxiety and depression or would you potentially be shortening the time spent with your anxiety and depression? How many more years would you like to be suffering with the anxiety and depression? What would your life be like if you got over it?

Here you check out the posts from my group and myself while I lead them through the program. We're actually on lesson 11 now so its alot to catch up but you read through those posts and then ask yourself again if the program has the potential to help you or not.

Too far behind to read the posts and get the benefits from them? So you'd be willing to give up on possibly finding the answers to your questions from those posts because we are really far ahead? Well thats your choice.
How much time have you spent thinking about your reasons for quitting and how does that help you overcome your anxiety and depression? Does it really make you want to go through the program more or less? How much time have you spent thinking about quitting as opposed to following through?
You say you still don't know if this will help you. What facts (not feelings) supports the idea that this program will not help you? What facts contradict the belief that the program won't help you? Saying you've had this condition for too long, you feel hopeless or its too hard or anything like that is not fact. Facts are things like the company has been around for over 20 years and already helped thousands of people, I have the ability to learn-grow and improve, my brain functions the same way as any other human being on the earth and has the same potential...Stick to facts, not feelings.
If that doesn't help you any then I want you to look at every possible area of your life that this condition is negatively impacting and I want you to feel it. Your relationships, your finances, your job, your self-esteem, your sleep, your immune system, your appearance, your mood, your hobbies, your confidence and courage and then I want you to look at how your life will be like if you continue to go on with the same anxiety and depression for another 5 years, another Decade and then 20 years from now and look at all those diffrent areas again. Look at everything you've had to give up so far because of this and everything you will have to give up in the next 20 years and then you tell me if it is worth taking the effort to try the program and risk it working for you.
