I started having a panic attack last night at about 10:30 PM. I was up the entire night with it. The feelings have not subsided yet. I have been gagging and thinking I am going to throw up.

I had such a good day yesterday and thought I was on the road to recovery.

Has anyone else had a panic attack that will not go away?

Hi, I'm so sorry you're suffering, I actually had a panic attack that lasted off and on for nearly 10 days. I thought I would lose my mind. I'm not on the program yet so I rely on ativan to get me through. I too have the gagging and dry heaves. Try to breathe through it and stay busy. Go into the chat room here, people are very helpful.

I'm in the middle of one right now. It's lasted from last night until now. I'm so glad i'm not the only one with long lasting panic attacks.

i thought i was the only one that had those too....people would say that they only lasted for like 15 minutes but mines would last for like 4-5 hours. wouldnt it be cool if we had like an anxiety relief convention. We need to get that going.
ATTITUDE -- The mind is like a parachute...it doesn't work unless it's open!!

I must admit, it is a relief to also know that I am not the only one with seemingly everlasting panic attacks. I recall years ago having one that on and off lasted a length of close to a month. Worst time of my life. I hardly ever slept and when I managed to I would awake ever 30 minutes or so shaking and crying.

I hope I never have to relive those days again.

Hey bjjcr. I used to wonder the same thing if anyone else had as much panic as much as I did. It seems a lot of us do! I had panic attacks that lasted all day and all night until 4 or 5 in the morning when I would finally go to sleep from just being so tired. And my panic would be severe the whole time. Update us and let us know how you are doing. I hope you are feeling a lot better now.

Hey bjjcr, I'm so sorry you're feeing this way. I know exactly how you're feeling. It's so upsetting. I felt like this for days and days a few months ago. I thought my whole world was falling apart. I couldn't get a handle on it. I started taking meds and it took a while to get one that worked for me, so everytime I tried one, it seemed I was getting worse. It was a living hell. But, hang on. It will get better. Keep doing the program. Do your breathing and STAY IN THE MOMENT. This is all we have control over. Your symptoms will not hurt you. You are strong and can beat this. Hope you're feeling better very soon. We're all here for you. This battle can be won and only you can do it. Keep working hard with the program. Roll with your symptoms, welcome them it will make you stronger.
