After my 3rd attempt in the program (and my 3rd time on session 2), I've FINALLY figured out what my stressor is - and it's one I don't know if I can control -
my fear of death.
I was raised in a church - a Southern Baptist (and if anyone here was raised similar, you'll know what I'm talking about when I say they literally put the fear of HELL into you).
From there, I went non-demoninational (which, in some cases in the South, can be worse).
I do NOT call myself a Christian now. I left it years and years ago, but still ... that old brainwashing "die, and go to hell and burn forever" stays with me.
Still, I want spirituality, and I don't know where to look. Perhaps I'll find it in Asia (I have to travel there frequently).
I just don't know.
I've realized that I panic while driving because I'm scared of another driver hitting me. I'm scared at literally every waking moment because death could come at any time.
Has anyone else gone through this? What did you do?
Help!!!
I am freaking out. I don't even want to sleep tonight.
:/
my stressor
I am LDS but I can still relate to the fear of the afterlife. Consider that we have come from a God that loves his children. I heard something recently on TV that was interesting. I guess the Koran says that we have two angels keeping track of our good and bad deeds and when we die the heaviest book determines where we go. An interesting thought, but I don't think you are the type of person who needs to worry. Whatever religion you are, try to remember that God loves you.
