I remember someone in the program saying "When in doubt, do nothing". I don't know for sure if that is the best advice.
Another thing I remember someone in the program saying was "Don't try to do the things you've been avoiding until you
have the skills". I think the skills they're talking about is being able to calm yourself, think about what's really bothering
you, change your mind, change your mood, stuff like that. One possible suggestion might be to go to the funeral or whatever
very briefly, say a little prayer or whatever, then leave or if you want to or have to just explain to someone that you're
feeling a bit panicky and anxious and excuse yourself and then leave. They do also advise not to run from the panic, so
you might keep that in mind. No matter what you decide just remember that things will no doubt work out in the long
run and you will be OK.
P. S. The people that you don't care for very much I think usually the best policy is to try to focus on any good qualities
at all that they may have, if you can.
Likewise with the drama from the past, maybe there was even some good that came from it that you've never thought
of before.

I usually do not go---anxiety plus I am embarrassed of the weight I put on in the last year---together keeps me home more than it should---husband is a big support and is williing to go on a diet together---I keep putting that off too......
