I started session 2 this week and I can't really understand how people talking about their panic attacks is going to help me. Is there something I'm missing? Can someone explain this to me please!!

Actually,I have found that talking to someone who has "been" through the grinder or going through it has been very helpful. GodSpeed to us all!

I read your post and I would like to share. I got the program in Sept of 08. I was on 300mg of Effixor XP. I wanted to get off of med. so I started takeing 150mg, my doctor was unaware. Well in Jan. when I went for my appt. he ask me what had I done that when I walked in I had a glow about me. I told him about the program, and by this time I had gone through unsure of which no. He said I have heard of this, would I care if he listened to a few of my CD's. Well when I left he dropped me down to 75mg. That was in 09, I went back to see him in 3 months and he really liked the program, he wished all of his patients could get the program. Time went on, I was only going every 6 months. Well here it is 2011 and I went back to see him in Aug. and now I am on 35mg. Hopeing to be totaly off by Jan. 2012. The program has really helped me and I think from this day forward I am going to try and go on this web site a few days a week. I stay at home, I am a pine needle, reed basket weaver. I have not worked in 6 years I would like to work, I really enjoy being with the public. There are not many jobs in my area for 55 year old people these days.
My e-mail if you would like to contac me is daynruth@yahoo.com. Good luck, you can do it as well.

It is the best thing to do, share your thoughts and anxieties with people that have similar issues. It helps you look at other ways to take control of ones own. But keep going with the program, it is really great in so many ways, it was the best money I ever spent. I still deal with the issues everyday. I just take a different approach. Yes, talking or letting 'it out' really helps, especially if one is going thru the program without a professional coach, which I think costs about a thousand dollars. SO, in short--the support and different ideas from other ppl really helps!~~Trish

They encourage us to get on the forum every day. I think it's going to be a good thing. We have all been very brave in taking this first step. I've realized I've been suffering from anxiety since high school and had my first major panic attack five years ago. I've been taking Paxil ever since, 10mg. I bump it up to 20mg (with my doctor's permission) when things get really bad, but I would like to be off it for good. Every day is a struggle with anxiety. Some days are better than others, but for the most part, I'm always anxious. My last panic attach was about a month ago and I freaked at my sister's house and had to leave in the middle of cooking dinner, I didn't want to scare her kids. I've been out of work for 2 years (still can't find a job) and for the past year and half I've been staying with my sister 3-4 days a week to help her with her kids while she's at work. It's a long story but my life is completely crazy right now and I'm hoping this program is going to help me get through each day.
