Today I had sugary cereal and koolaid for breakfast. Then I felt my heart beat really fast, and I figured it was just the sugar causing heart palpitations. Then my stomach felt funny and I got so anxious. I talked to my mom and tried to calm down, I tried taking deep breaths, but my heart was racing and I just felt so crappy and I was shaking. I felt kinda like I couldn't breathe and I was paranoid something was wrong with my heart. I feel fine now, but I hate heart palpitations, and everytime I have them I get really anxious, and even have a panic attack sometimes. It seems like when I tell myself positive things it doesn't work when I'm having a panic attack. It seems like nothing helps. What can I do???

It could be that your heart palpitations just happens. It doesn't mean anything is wrong with your heart. I have heart palpitations and my heart is fine. It used to make me have an anxiety attack because I would panic. Now I know that it won't harm me. It doesn't scare me anymore. The doctor put me on a med to greatly reduce the palpitations. If you don't want to take a med you just keep telling yourself for as long as it takes that it won't harm you but you have to believe it. :)
