is it normal to have increased feelings of panic and depression as i begin to make changes to my life? i've been feeling a lot of doubt lately and feeling like i won't get better. i would really like to enjoy life again, not just "get through it."

yes it is normal. Like said in the program when you start confronting issues you have it can cause bad emotions. You are confronting things head on. Even though they didn't feel good, they were "normal" to you. Just keep going and break through.

thank you for the response. i am continuing the program and also reading "from panic to power." it is very helpful. definitely struggling with anger as well, but i seem to be able to navigate those emotions better and the anger doesn't last as long. it is amazing how you can have all of these negative emotions hidden underneath the anxiety and when they come out, they take a while to get better. i know i was really angry when i started, but it is getting better each day as i learn better coping skills. this forum is very helpful. ; ))
