So I went to a party tonight. Didn't drink, just hung out with friends and had a good time. Then all of a sudden a ton of guys started trampling each other and fighting and yelling. It was scary, and I left, and I was shaking and stuff. I took deep breaths and eventually things were okay. But how come I feel like I'm the only one who freaks out? I wasn't even involved in the fight.

Hi Katie..You just brought back some memories dear!!!!..I take you must be around 18 years old by your avatar...I am going to be 54. I recall hanging out in one bar with all my friends but we drank most times we were there. The guys always broke out into a fight...although I felt a little anxious about it...it didnt effect me...that was really THEIR problem. They could have had too much to drink and one remark or a crossed eye will set guys off into fist to cuffs. Dont blame yourself for getting anxious...you just didnt want anyone to hurt themeselves and you most likely didnt want the police to think you were somewhat involved...its normal...I stayed the farthest away from pending arguments or fist fights....But taking everything into perspective with the economy and job loss, some people are at wits end. The slightest trigger wil send them off into a frenzy. However you were abosolutely right for coming and joining us on Stresscenter. So....When it doesnt involve yourself let it go. You only add to your anxiety. People may have issues of their own and really cant deal with it or dont look for help. Lots of tension in America now, but we are a tough country..we will get through it. creamcheese
