TRAZODONE
Trazadone is a very, very old anti-depressant.
They use this in nursing homes as an anti-depressant because most elderly people cannot tolerate the newer medications. I was told that a normal dosage for depression is in the thousands of milligrams.
I am assuming, from my own experience as well, that your doc probably recommended about 50mg at night to help with sleep??....
If so, then you were given the same help for sleep that I was given many, many years ago.
I have to say it really helps alot with sleep.
It's such a small dosage compared to what the elderly take for depression. It's alot safer than other meds for sleep problems too.
I took it about 5 nights and then never finished taking them. They did help though.
Don't be scared!
