Anybody out there using a Life Coach?

I've been thinking that I need some guidance regarding coping skills. I've been getting a lot of negative feedback mostly due to others dysfunction and clash of value system. I've been working on myself but find that I'm feeling trapped. Moving away and starting all over from scratch isn't an option...

Re: How to deal with setbacks

Me too! We all have things that throw us for a loop. I guess I'm in this program to find ways to pull out of the loop and get back on course. Found a great quote (in a book about getting your finances more under control) that I think is pretty profound for me, so I'm sharing here....." Focus on the ...

Re: Help!....please, needs some advice

Hi! When I get into the space that it sounds you are, I really have to take it back to basics - i.e. breathing. I work on slowing it down, focus on making each breath, slow/long and smooth and I talk myself through it with counting or words. I find this helps me to get out my "imagined future" and t...

Re: TOO YOUNG TO FEEL LIKE IM DYING =[

Hi! I wanted to share with you something that I noticed about myself when I was going through my panic attack period. I was creating a lot of drama, I don't know, maybe I was doing it because I was so bored or because my life at that time was so tedious and I had to buckle down and do a lot of stuff...

Crying episodes after Relaxation CD?

Anybody experiencing crying episodes after listening to the Relaxation CD? I've just started the program but it's been happening every time I listen to it. Am I just releasing extra pent-up stress?

Re: Breathing technique

You're probably trying too hard. It's OK, just relax. I think the biggest thing is to exhale 1-2 counts more than you inhale. Hey, sometimes just focusing and watching your breath helps. There is no "wrong" way to breath, only better more relaxing ways.

Journaling

I was wondering if someone could expand on the best techniques for journaling. I've kept a written journal for years, but I must be doing it incorrectly because it just makes me feel worse - I keep looping into the pain. Occasionally, I'll get some insight, but not much. I'm hoping that there is som...

Re: A question of trust

Hi! I just started the program yesterday. I've suffered with depression most of my life (since about grade 3 - I'm 52 now). I know what you're taking about when it comes to trust. I'm not sure if people who are prone to depression/anxiety are more sensitive to betrayals/rejection due to their past e...
