Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University is a 12 or 13 week program which does a WONDERFUL job of helping to make a real plan to deal with finances and debt. I find it to be a Godsend for finances, as I find Lucinda's program to be a Godsend for anxiety & stress. It's all about the choices we make a...

I can truly believe these were the hardest days of your life. Please be proud of yourself for utilizing the skills you've learned in this program. I am very happy to hear your daughter came through well and you managed to get through it too!

The best advice I can give here, from what I've read in your posts, Faith, is that "we teach others how to treat us". He didn't ask you to call about the dishwashing liquid and the FACT is, he was fine with what you got. It seems to me that much of this is in your mind, not his. We allow others to m...

I see you're going through the tapes. That's great! The big question is, are you doing the work? Are you reading the flash cards multiple times a day and listening to the relaxation audio at least once a day? Are you writing down your negative thoughts AND writing down positive thoughts to replace t...

I don't know anything about "The Gaslight Effect", but I did reference a book about a week or two ago that might help with your question about your husband. "Cracking the Communication Code" by Emerson Eggerichs is excellent in helping with the misunderstandings and the cycles of arguments, etc. my ...

Ok, for those who've worked in office, I've gotta add: Office Space

Oh, yeah - anything with Robin Williams in it is usually quite comical.

As Lucinda says, your first priority should be doing this program! It really DOES help. Talking helps only if you are writing down the negative thoughts you have and then WRITING down the positive changes of those thoughts. If you're just rehashing it, I don't think it has a long-term effect of help...

Mike, Thanks for the encouragement! I felt wonderful about my accomplishment the other day. About the over-eating - you are so very right. I actually am trying to eat 5 small meals a day, as children do. I believe it does sustain our energy MUCH better than eating 3 times a day. I realize that when ...

Mike - I missed signing on yesterday, but definitely appreciate your comments. I did downplay my accomplishment of getting to the gym at all! Thanks for the great, encouraging comments. Terry - the thing I didn't feel like doing was taking clothes out of the dryer and bringing them up 2 flights of s...
