Dear southerngirl, I have had diabetes since age 10 and am now 54. You have not screwed up yet. So forgive yourself and try again. Find a counselor to work with you on self esteem, join a group either diabetes support or something like weight watchers or the church based groups weight loss - the rea...

Type 2 is very different, yet very much the same as type 1. I did not realize for years that I was having anxiety and depression. Also, the doctors I had said that the reason my diabetes was not in control was because I did not try hard enough. Thanks for the exta baggage there.... Please do check y...

Beepster, I know what you are saying. Do not feel guilty though. You do what you have to do some times and it is best at the moment for both you and your son. Through support from this forum and what you learn in the program hopefully we will heal enough to get through and past all of this. Kids are...

Beepster, What I have to do with my grandchildren is to pick something I can do for just a few minutes and tell myself that I WILL enjoy for the children's sake and mine (adults with anxiety need to play). Then when that activity is over or I have gone as far as I can, then I suggest a few things fo...

Mssgr, You feel you will never be normal? Guess what? We are normal. Only 4% of the population is healthy. The other 96% of us are dysfunctional in some way. So congratulations! You are normal! Now just keep working at accepting yourself and helping yourself be the best, most confident, lovable, lov...

Hey Paul! I have been without a computer for a week now. Looks like you have been having great conversations that are very helpful to us all. I have an appt with an endocrinologist in February and did not even think to ask if they believe in adrenal fatigue or think that the only problem with adrena...

Carolyn, thank you so much for taking the time to explain the increased anxiety. This has been happening to me and somehow I ended up just checking the old postings and this was the first topic I saw. I think your explanation should be a standard for all newbies to read so we can relax and believe. ...

Any one have tips to kick the coffee habit? I have diabetes, so juice, milk and other drinks are out. I can give up diet soda or at least I am doing better giving that up than coffee. I have been drinking black coffee for almost 50 years and so many foods and drinks are off limits to me that I am ha...
