im 27 weeks along and I experience shortness of breathe too. My doctor said it is totally normal.

I do think though that if you have a history of panic the shortness of breathe can trigger attacks. You get scared and tell your brain that something is wrong and the chemical process begins ...

I think my doctor just made me really nervous about the lorazepam because he basically said that it will make me a bump on a log and go to sleep right away. he's probably just trying to make me cautious with it.
