Dear ww,

I say again that the thoughts will persist as long as you try to resist them. They are in no way sins, and God understands. Eat your snack in peace!

Love your friend,

Hello, ww! It seems funny, but the more you try to get rid of these thoughts, the stronger they'll become. It is perfectly OK to let thoughts even as strong as "F*** You, God." hang around in your head. They are not sinful, so don't let them fool you into giving them importance. I know that they are...

Dear Duckfan,
It sounds like you may have OCD. See if you can get a dignosis from an MD or psychologist.
It may be the first step to major relief. You seem to be performing a compulsion or tic. You will win over it! Lots of people have, and I'm trying!

You need to turn your attention gently to something else as best you can. You love our Lord, and He knows this! Don't waste your time bothering with these silly ...

ww: Start out slowly, and if you find the thoght repeating in your mind, tell it that you will think about it later and try to delay it for five mins. If you make it, go for more, but even if you repeat the prayer, tell yourself it is only a cumpulsion and I will do better the next time. But try to ...

To worrywoman: You are so right! The thoughts are not you! They are 100% OCD, a medical disorder. God, who knows everything knows how you Love Him. He sees deeply into your heart, even more than you do, and he knows the thoughts are not real, NOT sinful. You can permit these thoughts to exist, try n...

Worrywoman, This is "the week" for Scrupulous people. Wednesday was the feast of St Martha, who was "anxious and upset over many things". Friday is the Feast of St Ignatius who suffered this torment as you know. Saturday is the Feast of St. Alphonsus Liguori, who had scrupulosity all his life. These...

Dear Worrywoman, I have blasphemous thoughts myself which is hard in my profession-- I am a Catholic Priest! Saints have also gone through this torment and assure us that this painful condition is in no way a sin. Now you and I suffer from what is called "Scrupulosity". OCD attacks our most treasure...

Mrs T Bones, I'm happy you were able to overcome with God's help. Praise his name forever! Still there's a lot of evidence that OCD is a neurological disorder that responds to ERP therapy. My faith tells me I must listen to the doctor he sent to me.I take my meds when I need them. Do not be afraid i...
