Re: As soon as I wake up....
John, I wake up with anxious feelings too. Even after I take a nap in the afternoon or evening, I wake up anxious. I found that if I get moving, the anxiety goes away. I try to reassure myself that's it's only 'wake up anxiety'. Listening to relaxation exercises before going to sleep has helped to. ...

Karmerri, My mother had a very serious stroke nine years ago. It affected much of her functioning including speech, eating, etc. She was in a rehab facility for several months, and progressed very well. She was then able to go home, although with some limitations. My family has all helped to take ca...

Hi Everyone, One of the best things I learned from Lesson Six is determining what outcome I want to happen....... Whether its' from a meeting, a request of a family member or friend. I think that gives more focus on attaining what we want. Another is asking for help when needed. Most often people wa...

Mike, For most of my life (even before I went through the program program) I realized that chocolate, sugar, and caffeine made me feel bad. So it's been on and off for all these years. I've been off chocolate and caffeine since June. I've had a stressful year with anxiety, so I cut back on them. It'...

Hi Everyone, Avoiding caffeine and chocolate have really helped me. I loved iced tea and how good the fresh brewed tea made me feel. I was using it to elevate my mood too. But I found that it was making me feel edgy and having a faster heart rate. I loved chocolate too and can never stop with eating...

Hi Everyone, Again, it's great having a group to be able to access every day. I made a realization regarding expectations. Unconsciously, I know one of mine was that I worked toward preventing illnesses to occur to my family, especially my parents. In looking back, I've spend a lot of energy trying ...

He Everyone, I'm going through the program for the 3rd time. It has helped me quite a bit over the last 10 years. I'm going a little slower than the group as I'm still on Lesson Two. I wanted to mention how important distraction is in helping with anxiety. Recently I went to a gathering which lasted...

Mike, Great work in helping everyone! I believe you have reached a portion of your initial goal...you are inspiring others! I'm going through the program again too. I've noticed some of the worst panic attacks I've had have been when I've awaken from a nap during the day. I know in in the CD's both ...
