Hey Shif !

I'm going to watch my weight this year. I put on a few (!!) pounds over the past year. I started a weight loss plan. Are you a vegetarian ? If so, where does the protein come from......nuts and stuff ?

I like this positive thread. It is very much needed.

1. I set my alarm to get up earlier and work out and I did and got my 1 mile in
2. drank my 2 cups of water when I woke up (another goal)
3. Made some important phone calls and mailed off an important email. (had been dreading that, get so nervous) Glad to have faced that and I feel productive now ;)

Hey Man of Music,

Yes, I've been a veggie for over 8 years and I don't really worry about protein, a plant based diet in any form gives us all the protein our bodies need which isn't much, here's some links for more info:

http://www.savvyvegetarian.com...rotein-veg-diet3.php

http://www.healthrecipes.com/healthy_diet.htm

I actually don't eat nuts, maybe on occasion because nuts are more of a fat source (I think they around 75% fat) than a protein source, and I watch my fat because I have genetically high cholesterol.

Green leafies are actually the best source for protein.

I usually eat high raw but lately I've been doing a diet similar to this one: http://drmcdougall.com/index.html It's basically an "eat all you want diet" all you avoid is fat, as in oil and animal sources. There are a lot of folks on there who are dropping lbs and getting off their meds through this diet. They have a great discussion board as well.

I'd be happy to discuss this in another thread so's not to veer off-topic, there's a diet one on here if you'd like to do that.

Good for you for making positive changes!

Awesome idea Shif,

1- Received an encouraging email from Carolyn with a recommended reading list.

2- Wake up each day thinking " How can I grow today? And I mean it.

3- Grateful and blessed to not just exist, but LIVE each day with purpose.

Loving these positive affirmations guys!

God Bless Much love,

Eddy J
