Hey Kami,

I have been taking 20mg Lexapro for over a year now and really like it. I am in all honesty SOMEWHAT skeptical if it is really doing as much as I think it is or... if it is just me playing it in my head making myself think it is.. BUT..we all know it reacts to people differently and I have had heard a lot of positive things about it to this day. As for side effects, I had a tight stomach in the beginning while taking it but it soon passed and now all if perfect. So.. I would suggest trying it if your Dr. recommends it for you. I have been taking lexapro for about 4 years now. I had the mg.s increased last year because I was going through a separation, moving, etc. Before I had it increased the doctor, tried switching me to celexa. Oh my I felt like I was going to crawl out of my skin. I was put back on the higher dose of lexapro and I feel much better. If I do not take it I am an emotional mess and will cry at the drop of a hat, overreact, etc. I would go for it, it doesn't hurt to try something that might make you feel better. I have just started the program, but with my family history, I may be on the antidepressant for the rest of my life.

Will see, I am hoping I can some day stop taking it, but the thought scares me.
