I am really struggling with depression. I have been trying to deal with it without medication, but I may have to contact my doctor. I am embarrassed, I have started anti-depressants, but took myself off, because I want to do it on my own. I am really ashamed to talk to my doctor. I try to be strong and ride it through, but this has been going on for several months and I can't seem to shake it.

I have lost several friends to death, and my beloved cat. I just can't seem to stop crying, or feeling down.

Have you been in the program since September? Have you not gotten some better? D.L.

Losing several friends and a beloved animal companion could certainly make anyone feel depressed. There's nothing embarrassing about needing help at a time like this. Have you considered grief counseling? It's really normal to feel down and sad after several losses but if you are unable to function don't be shy about getting whatever help you need. There's nothing shameful about grief.

(((((jennkatz))))) I am so sorry you are fighting depression but please know there are a lot of us here that feel that same way and that you are not alone. I have my good days but then out of the blue I become so down all I want to do is shut myself up here in my bedroom, listen to music, and crying my eyes out. Certain dates trigger a lot of my depression as well as stressful things that I don't/can't handle very well. We are here for you, lean on us. There are a lot of wonderful supportive people in here.

God bless,
Susan

Hello to Susan,
You sound like someone I could use there support and advice. I am trying to figure out how to get my messages up here with everyone else. I hesitated to use this support group thing because I don't use my computer everyday. I have had the program since Dec 11, but just got started. Need help getting started on this forum process. Thanks, Peggysue

Hi. I as well as so many others are here for you. :) I am not quite sure what you mean by getting your messages up by everyone elses? Are you talking about how to start a new thread/post for yourself for others to reply to? Don't worry about posting everyday. ;) Alot of us including myself post when we can and for me it's not everyday. This is a great group of caring and supportive people so feel free to lean on all of us when you need someone. We are here for you. :)

God bless,

I as well struggle with depression. My 18 yr old son committed suicide 3 years ago, his birthday is Jan. 1. It's very difficult to make peasce iwth something that hurts to the core of ones being. And the greif is hauting. My spiritual and religous beliefs give me strength and yet there are days when it is devistating. I look at the sky, I listen to the birds, I'm grearful for the every day things, food, shelter, air to breathe. I have learned to treasure the memories more often that live with regret and should haves.

Good to see you starting the program. Personally, there is no shame going to a doctor and getting his support along with this program. I strongly suggest you try to exercise at least 3 times per day, get enough sleep (GNC, Vitamine shops) have ways to help, do the readings, watch the videos and listen to the CDs and do the relaxation - just as recommended by Lucinda. It really works.
