What's the difference between resting in God/"cease striving" and digging/fighting the anxiety?
I try SO hard to fix my over-reactive brain and realize I'm striving too much because it's controlling me at times and it's really frustrating/disappointing me that I can't fix it ASAP. How do I rest in His presence instead? or is it in conjunction?

You should rest in knowing that God is fighting the battle for you. The Lord knows what you can and can't handle. We look at it as humans that things have to be done ASAP as you put it but it is always going to be in Gods timing. Since I have had anxiety I have came to grow with the Lord in so many ways. I would stand on healing scriptures and pray for a sound mind. That will stop all the contiues thoughts. I use to have them all the time. Now when I even begin to get anxiety I immedialtly pray for a sound mind and my thoughts get back in line. Put all your trust in the Lord and everything else will line up in place. I hope this has helped you and is what you were looking for. God bless you and your thoughts and struggles.

Jennifier,
What a great quality to pray for- a sound (and quiet) mind, "Be still and know that I am there." I need to remember that one.

Whenever I'm feeling especially stressed/anxious in the a.m., I ask God for strength and if he'll come to work with me. On the way home, I always try to give thanks.

Blessings to both you and KDlady,
