Hi, I started the program about 5 weeks ago and have listened to a lot of the CDs - I do a lot of driving in my job. I have read most of the homework, but get overwhelmed with all of the things that I feel I need to change. I definitely think negatively a lot and worry about the future. I haven't been sleeping well, and that just makes it worse. I feel like I need to turn off my brain, but am not sure how to do that sometimes. I have had depression and anxiety off and on for years and periodically get better, but then something always happens and I end up in that cycle of having low energy, feeling like it's all too hard to deal with. I get trapped in analysis paralysis and know I should just do something, but it seems overwhelming as to where to begin. I am rambling, but any suggestions to make this easier? I want to be happy again - I hate feeling this "weight" on me and not having much joy in life...does it get any easier? Thanks for any support.

B in Va - I know the road you are traveling, and it isn't much different than mine. We all are here for one reason or another, but most is the same, to recover. I wish we had the magic pill, or easy solution, but if it was out there I know one of us would have found it by now. Recovery is not going to be easy, but nothing worth having ever is. Keep pushing, and together we will reach our goal of being recovered. Good Luck with all you do. Also I am in VA as well.

I am going through the program again. I am not too sure I got much out of it the first time. I am back with heavy anxiety - not sleeping not eating etc. I had my girlfriend of 2years dump me and this started the feelings again. I hpe I can work through this as well. Good luck to you both.

I understand what you are feeling as well! I have been feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and depressed for many years on and off. I am on week 4 of the program and have a hard time finding the time for everything the program wants me to do since I am a mother of a 1 year old. I would say just try the best you can and that is all you can ask for. Don't beat yoursef up about feeling overwhelmed! You can do it! I was told by several people that I could change the schedule in the workbook to better fit with my schedule, so you might try that to see if it helps. Try to keep positive and I hope the best for you.
