I just had to share how proud I am of myself that I managed two social events in one day. This was Saturday, a busy Saturday which usually is enough for me to feel overwhelmed and anxious. But I had outlined the day the night before, which helped.

The first event (a birthday party for 5 year-old) was fine, then I was supposed to go home, get my husband and older child to go to this other party (a dinner birthday party for a 6-year-old). I got home from the first and took just 15 minutes to lie quietly alone to catch my breath, then off to the next thing! I had some anxiety at arriving at this house. I had been there before but a lot of their extended family were there...a lot of people I didn't know and wasn't introduced to even. So it was awkward at first, and several times I found myself with no one to talk to, but no one else probably noticed and it was fine. And no "rebound" the next day from being overscheduled! AND I decreased my Paxil last Wednesday, so I am feeling very optimistic. Yeah!

Hi sleeplessMom...I was wondering what you may have meant by "no rebound". I have noticed that if I do alot everyday for like a week...I mean go!go!go! I will just get exhausted. I know that probably sounds dumb, like just slow down! I just feel real energetic and Want to do these things. Then when I get tired and maybe take a nap. I start having feelings of depression and things just slowly go down from there. Then after a week or less I will try hard to snap out of the feelings...usually I do. I just don't understand the ups and downs. I told my doctor and he put me on a mood stabilizer. I have been on it for almost a year. I think it has had plenty of time to work but I don't know.
This may not be the best place to put this but I did'nt know where else to put it since I could relate to that quate.
any suggestions would be appreciated :)

celeron: I am sure you will do fine! Let us know how it goes...

karenLeigh:
For me, being too busy can bring on anxiety symptoms. If I have a week where there are a lot of extra activities out of my normal routine, even fun stuff, often I will get through those events just fine. But then the next day or few days I will have anxiety for no reason, or trouble sleeping. So I call it a rebound. Sometimes it happens with a stressful period too, I'll do fine through all that but then after it is over, and I should be able to relax, I will have trouble. Hope that explains it.
