Unfortunately medications alone will not provide a permanate fix for anxiety or depression. They really only mask the problem. Sort of like the shot the dentist gives you before working on your teeth.
Seek out various CBT solutions. That is the only thing that will give you a long term 'fix' for these conditions.
I used Google and did an extensive search for information about GAD (my issue) and I found a wealth of useful data. I used numerous solutions, reading books, listening to tapes & CDs, relaxation exercise DVDs (Chi Gong), plus just reading hundreds of pages of relevent stuff on the internet.
I guess what I'm saying here is to take charge of your own recovery process and don't just rely on drugs to solve these conditions. As hard as it is to accept (it was and still is very hard for me to accept) these conditions are caused by our own reactions to the world around us. That's why we need CBT. It's not always easy but it's the only way to get over this and start leading a normal life again.
Sorry if I come accross as preaching, I don't mean to. I am in the same boat as you folks are. It's a struggle but it is do-able. God Bless and peace be with you.
"O God, you are my God. Earnestly I seek you;my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water. I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. Because your love is BETTER than life,my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name, I will lift up my hands." Psalms 63
