Hi Fellow Forumers:

I am in a desperate pinch right now b.c. we all know how doctors are (shove one pill or another down your throat with no thought)and I need to get back on a med- I know that amount has been a big problem, finding the right dose, but I was doing well on Zoloft accept it made me very nauseated if I didnt eat every couple hours (the 25mg was to low and the 50mg to high)and the celexa had a whole ton of effects. Can anyone suggest anything perhaps I could approach my doctor about? perhaps prozac is the next step?

I am getting desperate for a med as I am starting to lose it again at work (tired no focus depressed just wanna go home) but am terrified of what my doc is going to give me next- I need some more info! any help, experience or advice would be greatly appreciated- I am chasing my tail in circles right now..

:)

My doctor has me on Remron. I take it at night. It helps with sleeping and I wake up with no side effects. I just went up to 30 mg. and hope I can stay at this level. I still struggle at work sometimes. It's an awful feeling. Ask your dr. about Remron.

MAEGGIE!!!!
Sorry you are having a difficult time. I too have been on remeron. I was on it while I was pregnant so I'm not sure which made me gain 80 pounds. I was a stick before it! But they warned me about the weight gain and also said it's one of the more fast acting meds. It doesn't take very long to get in your system. It seems like the others take a few weeks which seems like an eternity when you need help. I don't know about you, but I want instant relief to make it through the day! I swear by the EMSAM patch I am on now, BUT it's very powerful and is a MAOI which comes with a lot of restrictions in what other meds you can take. Plus you have to be off any other antidepressants for so many days before you can start it. But it was what helped when nothing else would. I had a migraine last week and they refused to treat me at an immediate care center b/c of possible interations with the patch. They sent me to the ER which I don't want to have to do on a regular basis. Too expensive for me.
Just get in with your doc and talk to him and see what he says. Good luck and I've been thinking of you. Beverly

This summer I completely got off meds that I have been taking for 6 years. I started off with Celexa (worked good for 4 years) then it stopped working, then my doc prescribed Lexapro, which worked really good for about 2 years, At the time I got off the meds, my doc had upgraded me to Cymbalta, but I was in the process of wanting to lose weight so I went to another Dr. and he told me the diet med./program would not work and to stop taking the meds, so I did, started walking, got an MP3 Player(downloaded my fav songs) and lost 40 pounds. I heard about this CD program on the radio and ordered it...I have been doing alot better ever since.

Maeggie,
If the Zoloft was working for you previously, what about taking a dose in between the 25 and 50mg? perhaps taking 1 and 1/2 of the 25mg would be the perfect balance for you...

Hi Sheils, thanks everyone for the input- I dont think I can do that because they come in capsule form so 25 and 50 are in different pills.. they go in increments of 25 i think but i will definitely ask my doc, thanks again for the suggestion!
