I am on it now. I have been taking it for 5 years. I started on 20 mg and I loved it. It has helped me! Now that I have been on it so long it seems not to work anymore. I am up to 60 mg now.

I have been on Prozac for years. It helped for a long time. It kinda felt like an emotional floor I didn't go beneath. External stressors like being fired or out of work or in a job you hate can get to me though. I started the Stress program about 4 weeks ago. Seems to be helping.

Oh, I take it for general depression. Doctor never mentioned anxiety. I went in a few weeks ago when I was getting worse and he started me on Wellbutrin but too soon to tell except for some nervousness and he reduced my dosage.

Hi, I'm new to this kinda of support. I haven't been able to talk to anyone around me who understands how my anxiety affects me daily, I hate it1! I' was also going to try Prozac, but I'm scared of gaining weight.Does anyone know of that happening often? Also I'm really scared with how i feel with all these anxiety attacks I feel like i won't get better. I've had so may doctor appointments and they never find anything, but i feel like I don't trust them. others feel the same?

Hello everyone,
I wouldn't say I love taking Prozac but it has helped me. My doctor upped my dosage the last time I saw him. I went from 20mg to 40mg. He wants me to just use the Klonopin when needed but also wants me to ween off of it if possible. I would like to take NO medication unfortunately that's not the case at this time. In the past when I wasn't on it well I don't want to go there. Some people can have the program and that's all they need to get over their anxiety and depression problems and some like myself need both medication and the program. That's okay too. The bottom line for me and I'm sure for you as well is to recover.

All my best,
Inside Man

Prozac has helped me there is the initial getting used to it makes you a little nervous jittery at first and takes from 2-4 weeks to feel it's effects so be patient it's hard but worth it also, I have not gained any weight from taking the prozac.

Prozac helps with losing weight or loss of appetite for most. The doctor prescribes Prozac for me; I took if for only three days. I was on the edge, screaming for no reason. I stop it right away. I don't recommend going on anti depressant at all unless it is absolutely necessary. This is a temporary solution to the problem while you are seeing your consular and helping your body going through this time. As you know the effect of this antidepressant is going to wear off and your doctor will increase the dosage and eventually change your prescription for higher effective medicine.
