Hello Songwriter,
I didn't really have that much info in this post on why you feel this way. So I looked at some of your previous post to get a better understanding on why you may be having this feeling.
As far as this goes, do you help her around the house? A little bit of cleaning, maybe cooking, etc. You may start to feel more helpful and stress free. Also with you making that minor gesture your wife will greatly appreciate your actions and efforts, and return the gesture one way or another.
It's not about trying to out-do or "to keep up with her." It is not a competition. You two are married and in the core you both want what's best for each other, love and support each other reguardless of whatever circumstances. It's important to keep that in the forefront of one's mind and act on it in ways that the other will understand and appreciate.
It's so interestingly wonderful when one exerts a positive attitude, how much other's feed off of it and become positive too.
