Our indoor cat was enjoying a few moments with us outside yesterday as she often does, when she just vanished. She is extremely curious and completely unafraid of the big outside world...but we worry she is not street smart enough to avoid the streets and find her way home.

Please pray for her safe return, and for my kids as they miss her terribly.

Sleepless Mom,
I will pray for the return of your cat! I have 5 of them so I know how I would feel if it was one of mine. I have one that likes to run out the door and one day I came home in the evening from work and he ran up to the door to meet me! He had been outside all day and I never knew he had even gotten out. He is not used to being out on his own so I was amazed that he hung around the house waiting for me. Take heart, they are smart animals. Please keep us posted about your cat okay?
Live long and Prosper.....

Hi Sleepless Mom,
I know you're worried sick, but like Dinobail says, cats are very smart and since your cat is an indoor cat chances are like her cat, yours is probably very close by but scared to death right now. Hopefully, when she gets hungry she'll come out from wherever she's hiding and be waiting for you, too. I also have cats,7 of them and I know how you feel about yours being missing. I've been through that situation myself and I know how upsetting it can be. I have said a prayer for your cat, you, and your children and will continue to pray for all of you until her safe return. Please do keep us posted about your kitty. God bless you all!

dinobail and Gail: Thank you for your prayers. I am distributing pictures to many neighbors, so if they see her they can call us. We have called and searched. I don't think there is much more else to do but wait.

One time I went for a 30 minute walk and didn't realize she had escaped. She was sitting on the porch waiting for me when I got back! So I wasn't TOO worried last night, but now it seems less likely she will just show up. But I have heard many stories of kitties being gone for varying lengths of time and coming back. But not all of them do. I have a little guilt about this too, because I have bonded more with her sister who is a more cuddly cat. But now I miss this one's crazy antics (she went down the kids slide all by herself last week...she climbed up the ladder, sat at the top, and tried to walk down but ended up sliding to the bottom!). I tell myself my thoughts didn't drive her away...she really is the kids' cat. She will climb the ladder and sleep with my son in the top bunk. I hope she comes back...I will keep you posted if she does!

Sleepless Mom,please don't let any guilt feelings enter your mind. In my experience with cats, and I have had more than I can count, cats more often than not tend to be aloof. So bonding with this type of cat is different than with one who is an affectionate sort. And if it's any consolation, out of my 7 cats, only 2 are affectionate, but I love them just the same and would be very upset if any one of them disappeared. From the wonderful endearing stories you've told about your cat, It's very clear to me that you have indeed bonded with your kitty and just the fact that you are so concerned about her is testament to that!So try to keep the faith, remember we're here for you and we'll all KEEP PRAYING! God Bless!

Thank you all...SHE IS BACK! My kids and husband found her tonight on the next door neighbor's front porch meowing loudly. We are so relieved. Thanks for your prayers. I really appreciate it!

Dear Sleepless Mom,'
I just saw your post this morning about the return of your precious kitty. I am ecstaticly happy for all of you!!!!Apparently your kitty knew what a good home she had and wasn't about to leave it. Thankfully, the good Lord watched over her and kept her safe while she was out and brought her home to you again.I will continue to keep all of you in my prayers and I wish you continued blessings. Take care.
With love, Gale
