First, I want to say that I have made real progress with this program. I am excited about it but I'm also having some really bad days. What I wanted to say is after doing the chapter on expectations at the end it says, "you should be having less anxiety at the end of this lesson." Talk about a SHOULD THAT COULD CAUSE ANXIETY. I felt good until that. It made me feel like "you're a real loser if you're not better at this point in the program." Why in the world would you put a SHOULD like that there? It was a real disappointment.
Thanks,
Vanessa
Expectations
Hi Nessy,
I think it is our "perfectionist" thinking that gets us into much trouble
!!!
I do not think that "should" was placed in there because we "should" being having less anxiety!!!
I think "what was really" meant here, is that we "may be experiencing" less anxiety!!!
That just goes to show us, that not even the "person" who wrote that line is "perfect"..LOL
Honestly, I would not take this seriously!!! In fact, I would not "give it any weight at all"
Nessy, you are far from being a "loser"...
In fact, you are a very "highly intelligent" & analytical "human being" to be able to "pick up" on this mistake!!!
Please don't allow that sentence to concern you in the least!!! Just continue on with the "program" as you have been doing, and you will be "just fine"
One day in the near future, you will probably look back on all of this and be "able to "laugh" about it!!!
You are a very strong and brave person!!! You will make it!!! Please do NOT give up because of a little "error" in a sentence!!!
I pray that God blesses you tremendously on your journey to recovery!!!

u know what I felt that way also, i thought to myself, why do I still feel anxious, is there something wrong with me, becouse according to the program i should be getting better, so I wrote down how i was feeling, and as i went on in the program i started feeling better, It was not till lesson 12 it was like a light just came on, i am now through the program and i still get anxious, not as bad, but iknow how to control it now, and i just go back to the cd's when it gets really bad, your not alone,
so hang in there baby life will get better
i didnt think it would, it does trust in yourself, take care and god bless
