Hello all i'm new here, I just started the program this month. I am a 22 year old male and have had horrible side effects from trying SSRI's and SNRI's in the past.

I started taking Zoloft Jan. 2008 for severe social anxiety and it threw me into a wild, euphoric, manic state. About a week into taking the medication my genitals went almost completely numb, but I was to happy and care free to even worry about it at the time. I stopped the medication because of this side effect on May 3rd 2008, and yet these side effects still persist...to this very day.

My genital area has become greatly desensitized, i'd say about 25% of its previous sensitivity. I am still able to get an erection, but it is numb to the touch. I have almost zero sex drive, and other parts of my body are numb as well. Areas of my body that used to be very sensitive or ticklish have lost almost all sensitivity. For example my sides and lower stomach area used to be highly sensitivity and ticklish but now these areas of my body don't even feel like they are mine, when I touch them or when someone else touches these areas its just a numb, lifeless feeling. These aren't the only areas I am having this problem, its all over my entire body and its very scary I have had this problem for well over a year now being off all SSRI's.

I am seeing a psychiatrist and psychologist and they are lost, no one seems to know what is going on and I need help with this condition. Other problems I am having is a very spacey feeling in my head, my mind doesn't feel clear and I feel disconnected from the people around me, and from my environment. Its like I am in a daze all the time, almost in a dream like state. Also my emotions became numb immediately after stopping the Zoloft and the severity of it is parallel to that of my physical numbness.

There are groups of thousands of people with this condition and they call it PSSD (Post SSRI Sexual Dysfunction). So far there has been no cure found, I am wondering if anyone here has had this problem who went through this program and found some relief, or even reversed this horrible side effect?

I'm so sorry to hear that this is happening to you. I haven't heard of this side effect. I wish you the best of luck in your search for answers.
