If there is anyone out there who can give me some hope. I feel so lost...lost in my own head. I can't stop these feelings!! I hate these body symptoms and I can't get it out of my head that there is something wrong with me! I have constant lightheadedness, muscle tension, jaw pain, and palpitations (occasionally.) The unreality feelings are ruining my life!! I am so consumed by all of these things that I feel my life is slipping away. I have done the program but just can't get past the hypochondria and unreality. Please help--I feel so desperate!!

I am so sorry to hear that you are feeling so lost. It such a scary feeling. I have been there many times myself.

You need to stop and just breathe. Yes, the body symptoms are so uncomfortable and very scary but they are not going to hurt you. It's just anxiety.

Something has triggered a flare-up of anxiety. It can be something you heard, saw on TV, a memory, or just life stressors catching up and overwhelming you.

Please, if you've been thru the program before pull out the 6 steps from lesson 2 on panic attack.

For now just work on your breathing. Inhaling for 2 and exhaling for 4. When you slow your breathing down, you will slow down the uncomfortable body symptoms.

Recently, I had a flare-up of my anxiety due to some medical issues. I start having panicky feelings, a racing mind and heart, feeling really jittery and nervous. It scared the absolute sh*t out of me.

What helped me was pulling out my program and I re-read lesson 1 on why we're prone to anxiety and lesson 2 on stopping panic attacks.

It helped me to understand what I was doing to myself. That I had a choice.

Again, I am sorry you are going thru this but you have to believe you have what it takes to overcome and manage it. You have done it before, you can do it again. believe in yourself.

Keep in touch and let us know how you are doing.

Take care and God Bless.

Hi Labourg.

I'm so sorry you're feeling so lost. I know how you feel. I had felt that way for over 20 years. Only recently I really learned to not be so afraid of the lightheadedness.

There's a book that you should read, it helped me soooo much! It's called "Hope and Help for your Nerves" by Claire Weekes. Please try to get that book. It explained all of these symptoms and CLEARLY explained why they happened. She explained why these feelings won't hurt us, and that we are oversensitized and how to get rid of these symptoms.

I cant tell you just how much that book helped me. It's a very small book, but it's filled with heplful information.

If you already have it, forgive me for all of the desribing. LOL

I'm telling you, Its a wonderful book.

I can tell you to journal. Your feelings, do your relaxation, and change you negative thoughts around which is the answer. But I was still afraid until I read that book. I needed someone to really tell me why I was feeling like this.

I know I'm rambling. I hope you feel better soon.
