Looking for support
Hi Mrs. C,
Take a deep breathe, hold it in, and then let go out for about a 4 count (1001, 1002...). Open your package, and find the package of flash cards. The first card teaches you how to use and practice the breathing technique to help bring about some calm. This will help you to relax.
I found that starting with the coaching videos, and watching them and taking notes, as you would do in any course of study is the best bet. Review you notes at the close of each video presentation, go slow and take it all in, and even repeat sections. Reflect on your notes, to see if there are things in your notes that may help you realize somethings about your particular disorder. Don't worry, just move along at a nice leisurely pace, remember that the course is designed to help with stress not create more stress. Okay?
Once you have gone through the first coaching video. Take a break, and pop in the relaxation CD and see if this CD is of some help to you. Use it as often as you need to, and it will help you regain a sense of calm. Do not put any pressure on yourself about doing the session as they suggest. No one is grading or watching you. It is a self cognitive behavioral therapy that is intended to help teach you to manage the stress in you life; that leads to self-control over panic, anxiety or depression.
This course is a self directed, go at your own pace, course of study, and your approach should not add to stress, but help you recognize and empower you. Okay? When you are ready you can proceed. If I can be of any more help, not only will I be here, but many other wonderful loving and caring people, that will help you with info on how they successfully managed the stress in their life. It may or not help you in the same way, but it is helpful stuff that you need to build on. I think that if you keep these these noted above in mind, you will make huge progress that will help reassure you of your choice to get this program. That is going to proved to be a huge and pivotal move for you.
I will tell you that this forum is like a trip to the grocery store, or to a dining buffet. View the different topic forums as the shopping aisles. Shop wisely. You don't have to accept stuff that may not suit your taste, so don't buy into it. Keep moving, you will find exactly what you need to help build you up, and stay away from the stuff that takes you down, and is a hinderance or of no good use to you.
Congratulations on a wise choice and I wish nothing but successful outcomes in this course of study.

I agree with Gman! Take it one step at a time. The kit comes with a lot of stuff and it can be tempting to go through and figure out what all of it is, but start one tape at a time and move at your own pace.
Also, the relaxation tape is your friend! When I first started I had to use it 3x a day and started learning how to just shut down the racing thoughts and be able to listen and absorb what the sessions said.
Be sure to keep coming here for answers to your questions and overall support!
