For over a year now I have been having this squeezing pressure feeling in my chest and throat. Then I have difficulty breathing. It gets hard to talk because I am so short of breath. It seems to be getting worse lately. I am really nervous that it is my heart or lungs. I obsessive over this thought all the time. Today it happened at work extremely bad and this made me very nervous which led to a bad panic attack. I dont know if I should be concerned about the pressure in my chest and throat or not. Its driving me crazy and is my main source of anxiety right now. I have had tests done, but I am convinced that they missed something. Advice is much needed!!!!
Chrissytina,
These are anxious symptoms. There is an exercise you may wish to try that will help to open you up - actually, you are open but it will help to relieve the "feelings" of being closed up. It's a yoga pose that is very relaxing. You are actually causing this tension in your body. (I know we hate to hear this but it's true.)
Get on the floor close to a wall. Lay on your side in the fetus position with your butt and your feet up against the wall. Now roll over to your back and raise your legs up the wall. Your butt should be as close to the wall as you can get - legs straight up the wall. Back flat on the floor and arms open wide. Just breathe naturally in and out and keep your attention on your breath.
Another thing you can do (a yoga bolster is great for this exercise) is to lay your back over the bolster and allow the bolster to raise your chest. It will help to open it up. Arms are spread out wide. Legs can either be straight out on the floor or in Indian position. Just stay there and breathe slowly, naturally.
Make it OK for those sensations to be there. They pass quickly if you do not resist them.

The chest, throat and diaphragm are classic targets for psychosomatic symptoms. I have had symptoms in all of the above. In stressful situations I have experienced the difficulty speaking you mentioned. I think it is paralysis of the diaphragm caused by fright.
Does it only happen at work? What in your life is most stressful? Sometimes we fail to identify the major source of our stress and therefore our anxiety.
The program says we think of the worst thing that could happen top us. This distraction keeps us from thinking about what is really bothering us in our lives.
Best wishes
