This is kinda like on one of the CD's when Lucinda was on about going skiing, and one person viewed it as excitement and she viewed it as fear.

But anyway. I think I mentioned before I have a wedding coming up soon. I put my foot down today with the other half and said "I am definately not going" she responded with "Why? It'll be a nice relaxing day out with no kids"

She see's it as a nice relaxing day, I see it as the total opposite, a day from hell, I wouldn't be able to relax from the moment I get there, I don't care what anyone says, if you have social anxiety it does not get any better in social situation, it is pure hell from the moment you get there until the moment you leave.

How can 2 people see a situation so differently? She can't see why I hate them, and I can't see how she enjoys them, Its not just weddings, I say the same about parties, funerals any social gathering

I'm the same as you and have for years not gone to these social engagements including my own family holiday gatherings etc. Wouldn't it be nice though if you weren't anxious and felt happy to go to these things? I know I would and am hoping this program helps us to get there.
